Allan Bloom

I enjoyed the article very much. It is important and timely. I would quibble about portraying Jesse Jackson and 1987 as even a "Symbolic" beginning. At exactly that moment Allan Bloom was publishing his The Closing of the American Mind describing the general phenomenon as being well entrenched and pretty much a done deal.
