Debanjan Banerjee blatant hypocrisyReader comment on item: How Fares Western Civ? Submitted by Prashant (United States), Jan 26, 2021 at 21:15 Dear Dr Pipes, we have known Debanjan Banerjee on this forum for several years and his hypocrisy is forever present. In this note entitled "Dear Dr Pipes" he makes the statement that Jesus was an Arab Muslim. This statement can be laughed off as a joke but Banerjee's truly misguided statement comes when he says,"If the West is committed to freedom why does it not allow Iran freedom to pursue nuclear power...". Muslims and Islamic sympathizers do not understand one simple fact: No argument in favor of freedom can be made by citing Islam and the Islamic republics as an example because Islam as preached and practiced is a living and breathing anti-thesis of freedom. Do I need to cite my examples again? I have done it many times before but it wont hurt to repeat myself. In Islam politics and religion are intricately intertwined. Thus while facades of democracy can exist under Islam, true democracy is not possible under Islam and, thus, freedom also ruled out in Islam. It does not stop there. Even if we forget politics and just look at the Islamic doctrine, there is no freedom in Islam. As long as there are murderous rules against blasphemy in Islam, there can be no freedom. As long as there are violent rules against challenging "Allah and his messenger" in Islam, there can be no freedom. Islam has every right to say that apostates will go to hell but Islam has no right to prevent people from choosing hell for themselves. But people like Banerjee will not understand. They will keep repeating that Islamic republics deserve all freedom while they grant no freedom to anyone. This is called hypocrisy. This is what must end.
