Curmally: Islam is a problem and everyone but Muslims knows itReader comment on item: Dueling Fatwas Submitted by Plato (India), Oct 12, 2010 at 14:03 Curmally, you wrote: >>From the 18th century onwards when there were three Islamic Empires, the Ottoman in Turkey, The Qajar Shahs in Iran and the Mughals in India, there have been any number of movements that have studied the problem of Islam by introspection and as was practiced then and now Islam for a more modern time. << So you admit Islam has a problem. How can a perfect religion have a problem? Or are you saying Islam is a problem? >>You are willing to call 1.5 billion people terrorists because you cannot handle a few thousand fighters who are running circles around you.<< Mainstream media and world leaders fall over backwards trying not to call every Muslim a terrorist. But a good number of Muslims think that the rest of the world thinks all Muslims are terrorists. That is because silly stunts like the Mohammed cartoons and the Koran burning threat bring out screams of protest and deadly violence from every corner of the Muslim world. Nothing much happens when Muslim terrorists decapitate people or blow them up using suicide bombers. You of course defend Islam by saying such people are not Muslims. But we know better. >> It is the tenth year in Afghanistan and you are nowhere near a resolution of your choice, You call that fair ?<< Muslim terrorists have been killing people in Kashmir for several decades now and yet they are nowhere near a resolution. Now is that fair? >>We do not claim to be perfect or known everything or try to tell the world that we do.<< But your religion does claim to be perfect. And if you truly follow a perfect religion then you should also be perfect. Otherwise you are not able to follow this perfect religion in which case you are no Muslim. Or this perfect religion is not perfect, for if perfect, its followers also should be perfect Muslims. The Koran does claim to know everything and loudly tells the world so. If you are a good Muslim you should have knowledge of what is in the Koran and you should also tell the world that you know everything. You can't have your cake and eat it too. >>If you are seeing a militant aspect of Islam today, it is because we have learned that we may have attained physical freedom but there is a battle on for our minds.<< This militant aspect of Islam has been there since your prophet managed to take control of Medina. From then on he set about imposing Islam on all using persuasion of the monetary or military kind when opposed. Just one example will do. The Meccans until the moment of their conquest remained pagans but almost overnight became Muslims seeing the armed might of their conquerors. There is even a verse about this in the Koran about the Meccans entering Islam in droves. >>The right to be the Muslims, the right to live by our beliefs however good or bad they may be, we prefer our belief to many other system of life because we have always claimed Islam is not a religion but a complete way of life, and the right to be equal citizens of this world.<< In which infidel country are Muslims not allowed to practice their religion as equal citizens? In the US, in India, in Europe? And how about kaffirs in Muslim lands. Can a Hindu worship according to his beliefs in Saudi Arabia the motherland of Islam. Can a Christian preach his religion and be safe? And why does this great belief system of yours say that you must fight people of other religions until they believe or pay the jizia in humiliation (Koran 9:29). As a Muslim are you claiming you have this Allah-given right to fight us and humiliate us? Is this the road to equal citizenship for us unbelievers. Despite the fact that Islam openly proclaims the inequality with a Muslim of an infidel (the large majority of mankind) you expect (and get) equal treatment from us. If Islam is a complete way of life then as a good Muslim you must also try to implement this ordinance of fighting unbelievers ordained by Allah until they are subjugated and humiliated. Great way to impose equality. >>These are freedoms that the West has given itself but they are not available to us. << Who is stopping Muslims from giving these freedoms to themselves if not Islam? As you say earlier Islam is a complete way of life i.e. regulating everything you do. What kind of freedom is that? What you eat, how you eat, in which direction you pray, who to pray to, in which language you pray, how women should dress etc is regulated. Islam is not freedom but regimentation. >>We are preached to, talked down to and attacked and killed for no rhyme or reason and judged by western standards and value systems<< Which Muslim country allows any non-Muslim preacher to preach (if that is what you meant by preaching)? Why don't you give one example of being talked down to? The West is known for its secular and democratic values. Now if the west is doing all that you say (preaching, talking down to and attacking and killing Muslims) it has dismally failed to impose its values (we know how Muslims detest secularism and democracy). Oh I forgot, you say they are doing it for no rhyme or reason. You want the West to judge you by your own value systems. Your value system includes considering kaffirs as lesser beings than Muslims, women devalued as a degree below men, fighting and humiliating people for their beliefs and so on. If you expect them to judge you by these standards you have a long think coming. >>.. When we fight for our lands we became terrorists. So we are living in an unequal world.<< Who is this we fighting for our lands? The Muslim Ummah? Who were the terrorists who decimated Buddhism from the land of the pure? >> Would you like to do do that? Be a second class citizen of the world?<< Second class citizens exist only in Muslim countries. Fifty per cent of Muslims are second class citizens by edict of the Koran (women being considered a degree below men), and minorities are dhimmis who have pay a humiliation tax . And some minorities pay with their lives in Pakistan (Ahmadiyas). >>All we ask of you is leave us alone.<< There are more than 50 Islamic countries doing much as they wish. And wherever they are a minority they indulge in violent battles with the majority community. Philippine, Thailand, Russia, India, ad infinitum. And do you leave the kaffirs alone? You indulge in your irritating dawa on the insistence of your prophet. Why don't Muslims stop proselytizing? >> We don't want your wealth we don't want anything from you. But this is a difficult proposition for people who want to" make the world safe for democracy."<< Then why are Muslims lining up in scores to get visas to the west to partake of their wealth? Many Muslims claim they immigrate to the west to escape the tyranny in their own country and live in a democratic environment. Muslims are attracted like moths to the west which is why they are now facing a Muslim problem. You want their wealth but not their democracy. Regards Plato
