The tight connection between Islam and MarxismReader comment on item: Pope Benedict Criticizes Islam [in Regensburg] Submitted by Ed Melik (United States), Sep 25, 2006 at 19:30 In reference to Mr. Silvio B's comments and analogy equating Islam with Marxism is almost funny and does not lend a credible argument. If Mr. Silvio knew ABC of Islam, Judaism and Christianity then he would never have come up with this nonsense by equating Marxism with Islam. Not long ago when the Soviet Empire was alive and kicking, the west relied on the Muslims world to take any anti-Soviet actions while the liberal left Christians and Jews hailed for the Soviets. McCarthyism never had one Muslim listed among the suspects of "Marxists" among the American media, the academia, commerce Trade and politics. Muslims worldwide were the biggest foes to the Soviets. Precursor to 9/11 fiasco took place in Afghanistan where the Soviets invaded and occupied. Who did the US call for fighting the Marxists... the Arabs and the Muslims who ultimately defeated the Soviets who left Afghanistan and the rest is history. From the ashes of the defeats of the Soviets and the victory of the Muslims then called "the Mujahadeens" rose the towering ghost of Osama Bin Ladin who was trained by the Americans, aided by the Americans, and finally hailed by the Americans. We as Americans are known to keep the wrong bedfellows. Our "Special Interest lobbies" are the termites eating away the roots of America's constitution that made this country the greatest of any civilization ever existed on planet earth. I lived in Russia during the "cold war" era and traveled in Russia in those cities where we were the first Americans ever tough their soil. I have seen Russia's interiors and of course lived and worked in Moscow, Leningrad, Kiev, Odessa, Siberia, Urals, etc. It is not a secret to compare Russia of today with the past. If you talk to any ordinary Russian or the ex-Soviet colony's citizens, they will tell bluntly that they want the old system back. Why do you think that is Mr. Silvio? I have visited Russia several times in last 5 years and I could not believe the criminal elements and the corruption that is now so open and so wide. During the communists regime not one Soviet was unemployed, not one Soviet was homeless, not one Soviet was without medical insurance, and not one Soviet was hungry. Granted Soviet was not really the West but if anyone compared the unnecessary gadgetry of the West with life's necessities, they in their fair minds, would chose the Soviet model. Today former Soviet Union is in shambles and its people in total disarray. As far as the Muslims and the Islam is concerned, the truth about Islamic followers (not the Islam), the Muslims is totally acceptable and valid that they are mostly without principals, what most of the Muslims preach is far from what they in reality practice. Those who have money and power do horrible things to their own that are less fortunate. Those who are less fortunate turn to the draconian and ultra-right wing, religious madrasas where totally unqualified self-appointed "Mullah" becomes the chancellor of these Madrasas where Jihad and the fight against the non-believers (the kafreen) is taught in anger for they are disenfranchised from the business, trade and commerce that is in the hands of the most ruthless and corrupt businessmen and the politicians. Their anger and helplessness against the government transforms these young minds into suicide bombers where they are indoctrinated by the Mullahs that they will go straight to heaven and God will reward them with an unending life and in the process their families will be blessed and soon they will all live rich lives as Allah will reward them with hidden wealth from unknown sources, etc, etc. Islamic faith is so opposite from the teachings of Marx or Ingle that you won't find one intellectual who could equate Islam with Marxism. As far as the Europeans are concerned, their understandings of the Muslims and the Islamic countries are far more qualified than us the Americans. For example, during the 9/11 incident, some of us Americans were so stupid and turned extremists against the Muslims that any one resembled Muslims was beaten up. one incident a group of ignorant Americans killed a man from Sikh faith (the opposite of Muslims). The man wore turban and had beard and these idiots thought that he was Muslim. Despite poor man's appeals and explanations, no one heeded to his truth and the poor man was beaten to death. I have worked in the Middle East for sometime and I know Arabs better than most of the Americans do. Saudis by far are the worse of them all. Their arrogance due to oil wealth created such an underclass in Saudi Arabia that it bred the fundamentalism as a direct result of Saudi government's inequalities and injustices. Because King Fahad and the rest of the Saudis are considered the keepers of the Shrine of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and they have self proclaimed to be the "Imams" of the Sunni Muslims thus automatically laying claim on 1/3 of the country's oil wealth. And the remaining also is in their control as they are the self-imposed highly dictatorial government. An underclass of Saudi have created what is popularly called "the terrorists" class of Saudis who in turn went to other Arab countries in particular and Muslim countries in general to enlist other extremists. It is so easy to find a young Muslim who is willing to die for the cause of Islam. Despite the general understandings popularized by Hollywood first and then the politicians and their keeps-- the media, even those Arabs with no education and much understandings of the spins, do however, know the difference between their enemies and those who pretend to be their friends. Their straight forward and unsophisticated approach to the complex political games of the west is simple. If they are saying bad things about Islam and their prophets, they kill them. Period. It seems very primitive and cruel. But if you undertake a comparative analysis of our ways (ways of the west), and their ways (ways of the Arabs), you'll notice that there are more similarities among them than not. For example, their law of shareeya (Islamic law) is quick and concise...ours is prolonged and dubious. There's always a good chance of plea bargaining. Their decisions do not leave any chances for again to happen due to severe punitive measures, ours always have a more so called humane side to it. Western laws always try and give a chance to the guilty to re-establish himself or herself in the society, but the Islamic laws put a mark on your forehead forever for everyone to see. We are now getting closer to the Arab laws. For example, every convicted sex offender must be registered and the community should be informed of his whereabouts etc. Mr. Silvio's comparison of Marxists to Muslims is one of the most far fetched comparisons I've ever heard. All those Americans and the western people who know a bit about Islam and the Muslims would totally disagree to this comparison. Marxism cuts off the faith in any religion completely and its foundations are based on totally on anti-faith. Therefore, Judaism. Christianity, and Islam, these main religions of the world are totally on an opposite spectrum of Marx and Ingle's communism philosophy. They call religion and faith opium to the believers. How can anyone in their right mind equate specially Islam to communist? It is totally a different subject to discuss that the forefathers and the founders of Israel were mostly Marxists. But most of them were not religiously inclined. Arab Jews and those Jews who came from Asia, Africa and Far East were more religious than the former German, Polish, Hungarian, Russian and American Jews who founded Israel and continue to dominate the present government of Israel. But it doesn't mean that the communism is accepted by great majority of Jews. There are other historical facts which could be used in justifying to make one's point that the Arabs are known to be more cruel, inhumane, discourteous, selfish, ruthless, greedy, holier than thou, and arrogant. They have one trait unlike most of the races... they are extremely emotional. This one component of Arab emotionalism could be witnessed among the Shiyaa's more than the Sunnies. Nonetheless, Shiya and Sunnie conflict started right after the death of the prophet Mohammed (PBUH) and till today it continues. Shiyas are represented by Iran and the Sunnies by Saudi Arabia in particular but most of the Arab world in general. Largest number of Muslims are Sunnies not Shiyaas. However there are dozens of other splinter religious group have sprung out in last two centuries or so. Islam will continue to be labeled by the west as a menace for there's a compelling need of an enemy so our defense industry and their economic growth remain healthy. Imagine we didn't have 9/11 and didn't have Taliban and Osama bin Ladin. Imagine a world without these so called "terrorists". What would happed to our defense industry, the obsolete weaponry and the rest of it!
