PaesanoReader comment on item: Pope Benedict Criticizes Islam [in Regensburg] Submitted by Silvio (Italy), Jan 1, 2007 at 18:19 Dear Cassano, I am from Reggio Calabria, just 150 km away from your Cosenza!!! I disagree with you on one point: according to me world runs on ideals, not on money!!! The latter is just a consequence. In other words, I believe that prosperity is a gift of God and it is given when people follow his commandments and when there is FREEDOM, that means an economy, religious and political freedom, such as one enjoys in the United States. The man has been created in likeness to God and the likeness consists in freedom: an animal is incapable of doing good and evil since it always follows its natural instinct; the man has the spirit (together with the body) that can control the instincts of the body (e.g. one can decide and promise to have sex only with his wife for all life and to not fall into temptations, such behavior is not possible to the animal that at the first occasion runs after the first female sample it finds). In Arabic countries, the ideal system is perturbed by the lack of religious freedom; in Europe, Asia and South America the ideal system is perturbed by the lack of economic freedom. A practical example: Microsoft Windows, computers and the Internet are all American inventions, since the lack of economic freedom has inhibited European creativity. If Bill Gates would have been born in Europe, the strong taxation or antitrust authority could have led Microsoft to bankruptcy. Furthermore, I did not really understand the European trial to Microsoft for monopoly, if not grounded on envy and the will to spill money to the States. I agree with you on the fact that the system self balances; there is a natural principle that each system has to set to the configuration of minimum energy for being stable. In the long run, as you stated, a Marxist system sets economy to the maximum energy (because of blood shed, high taxation, hard work without the proper corresponding awards), therefore it is intrisically unstable. However, history has shown that EQUALITY IS NOT HAPPINESS and that MARXISM MEANS POVERTY (they should be synonyms in the dictionary); in spite of the countless practical examples (I refer to the Black Book on communism for more information) people did not understand it and there is no rational explanation to that mystery (why people in democracy still vote for the communist party). The only answer I have found is the misterium iniquitatis: evil has no ground, it is performed as a free and a deliberate choice in opposition to any natural law (e.g. do not kill). That sounds absurd, but it is true: why Hitler disposed soldiers to hunt down some 5 years old Jewish girl while American troups were at the doors of Germany? Rationally, there is no answer. Concerning our poor Italy, now in the hands of the communists for just 20000 votes over a total of 50 millions, I am really concerned. The Italian bipolarism is really different from the American one, since in the States the coalition is not split into many political parties, on the contrary to the Italian case. In Italy, as you know, the left coalition spreads over 10 political parties (united only in the name of the personal hate to Silvio Berlusconi), that means that the communist party can blackmail at any time the left coalition to exit from the government so that the whole left coalition is afraid to loose the majority, with the ridiculous consequence ITALY IS RULED BY A PARTY THAT HAS ONLY 5% OF THE VOTES!!! A TRUE EXAMPLE OF DEMOCRACY!!! Probably, as you say, Italy will follow the sad path of the more unlucky examples of the Eastern Countries, leading to starvation and prostitution by the Marxist economy. I only regret that this could have been avoided, since each new law is passing because of the 6 life senators (Andreotti, Pininfarina, Cossiga, Montalcini, Agnelli and Ciampi) that allow the left coalition to overtake the right coalition at the congress (otherwise the right coalition would have the majority of senators). These life senators HAVE NEVER BEEN ELECTED BY THE PEOPLE AND THEY GAINED THEIR CHAIR JUST DUE TO THE BELONGING TO THE LEFT POLITICAL LOBBY: THAT IS ANOTHER ELUCIDATIVE EXAMPLE OF DEMOCRATY!!!!! Carlo Rubbia is Nobel prize in Physics and Rita Levi Montalcini in Medicine, the first has been kicked out of the ENEA (Italian Organization for the Scientific Research) and never became a life senator; Mrs. Montalcini became life senator just because of her Nobel prize. What was the difference??? Rubbia is for Berlusconi, Montalcini for Prodi! The Marxists lobby controls everything nowadays! I do not know the future of Italy, but I am really concerned.... Best Regards, Silvio.
