What gets posted on hereReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by Straight_Talk_Luigi (United States), Jun 27, 2008 at 18:31 Welcome Heidi! I'll get right down to it: First of all, the most important thing about this board is this question: Have you read what Dr. Pipes wrote? If so, did you earnestly expect to find loads and loads of good things? It's obvious from your diversity analogy that you have read several of the posts on diversity. Unfortunately, the social problems of humans are far greater and more complex than those of flowers. It's not as simple as you say it is. Here is why: The sad reality is, Heidi, we live in a society where the ideals behind diversity have been hijacked. The truth about it is often hidden and covered out of fear of hurting people's feelings, which is a ridiculous reason. It has gotten to a point where scientific data and factual information is twisted and conjured on everything from interracial marriage to the role of women to folks who have the homosexual orientation. It's a vulgar insult to the principles of science, ironically, which many diversity advocates claim to cherish. One of the downfalls of the post-modern liberal society that will take a huge bite out of Western civilization and democracies is that we refuse to what is right in front of our noses. I have no doubt that you were educated and brought up to believe that diversity is always good, but if you look at the census or population layout of every single major world city, you'll find the same thing: People live with and interact people who are similar. Whether that's in appearance, religion or ideas. You can argue diversity is a great thing until you are blue in the face, but no matter how political boundaries change, people will always cluster with those who are similar. The same is true of relationships. I don't know who coined the phrase "opposites attract," but attraction and matrimonial love are two very different things, and studies clearly show that successful relationships involve people with similar attributes. That's a know fact. If you have studied Islam critically, as I have, you would soon realize that orthodox Islam, the Islam that originated from Medina, is clearly a means to spread the Arab language and culture while subjugating and eliminating others. Many modern Muslims reject this, to their credit, but make NO mistake, Heidi, history is rampant with examples of it. You seem to wondering about the positive experiences. Well, orthodox Islam (or Islamism, as Dr. Pipes calls it) is the antithesis of post-modern liberal democratic values, especially diversity. Heidi, diversity is just more than skin color or country of origin, it's also diversity of ideas, religion, and philosophies. Islam shuns these to a radical degree, because it's main point is to subdue the world, and it has little to do with Israel or American and British soldiers in the Middle East. These philosophies are at the core of Mohammed's ideals and his ambitions. The only difference is lies in the idea that 1) Muslims know this and reject it or 2) Muslims aren't aware of such radical teachings. That's not even my quote, it's something Robert Spencer said. The problems with most of the relationships on this board has not so much to do with diversity, however. It has mostly to do with communication issues (the internet) and people looking for a money or a visa. This is not something exclusive to Muslim men. Also, the other thing is, most of the women on here are hurting. They've also seen their share of horrible Western men, but they've also had the misfortune of dating some horrible Muslim men as well. If there's one thing about this forum worth noting to you, it's this: Only Western women who are in relationships with Middle Eastern men are on here defending it. Muslim and Middle Eastern men and women have openly objected to most of the relationships on here. Nor do they need third-party confirmation about a marriage or relationship. Still are there positive experiences? Sure. It's just that 1) Many of them have met their men in their country, and the man is already a citizen or was born there 2) Marriage and having children isn't the finish line.
