response to luigiReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by LISABET (United States), Jan 6, 2009 at 19:24 And why would I want him to change? I love him how he is and I am not looking to change him just for someone to share my life with. So I don't get your arguement because I am not looking for one. I just stated my facts about me and I am happy and nothing you say will change that. Since we have met I have found many women and men who date and marry Moroccans and some have brought them here and they are very happy. Well, first of all, if you are going to post on here, I need to set the record for our readers. For one thing, I am curious to know what you mean about "many men and women who marry Moroccans" because the State Department does not issue out very many visas at all to Moroccans. I sincerely hope you are not referring to what people have said on the internet. Look at what I wrote again I said SOME and I am very well aware of what the State Department statistics are on the issuance of visas. Look I am in agreement with you on many things and I know the success rate of online relationships is not very high. And these realtionships could be dangerous. And anyone who decides to go to another country to meet somebody else needs to be careful and keep in mind that not everybody is honest. But, there are exceptions to every case and I have luckily found the exception. I have been hurt before and it took a lot for me to take the risk, but I honestly from my heart have found peace and happiness and I say this after carefully making the choice I made. I did not go into this relationship blind and I also met people here in the US that knew him and his family and had met him in person and had known him for many years. Like I said I was lucky and is my opinion and that may not be yours but we are all entitled to our opinions. I did not jump right away and go there to meet him. I took my time and got to know him as well as I could online and it was right at 1 year of knowing him when I went. Once we met in person and i seen him and his life it cleared up a lot of questions and those doubts I had. I do not think any person should jump into a relationship and go straight to them as soon as they meet. You need to be sure and really consider what you are doing. There are terrible people out there and not every man or woman is truthful. And yes I had doubts but like I said I was very lucky and met a honest and loving man. I will advise you to never send money to them until you are sure they are who they say they are. And even then don't do it. I have been with my man for over a year now and he has never asked and I have never sent. Even when I was there I never gave him money and he paid for everything we did. Once we are married that will be a different story, but the way I see it is even if you are here in the US and you meet a man you wouldn't give him money. Well, most people wouldn't. Just trust your instincts if it doesn't sound or feel right it probably isn't. I googled islam and muslim to see what it is all about. Because I am in love with this man and this is what he believes I wanted to find out more. I don't see anything wrong with that I want to be sure I have done my homework and then if I choose to convert I did it because I knew the truth. I don't like to go into things blind and I feel it is best to hear both sides and make an educated choice. And that is how I found this website. I also get email from Daniel Pipes which I have been getting for a long time and that i signed up for when I was taking a world religion class in college. I would advise anybody getting involved with somebody of another race and culture to really think it through and make sure they are ready to make that decision by searching the positive and negative of every aspect of that persons culture and beliefs. I say this should happen if you meet them online or if you meet them on the street in front of your house. Don't make a snap judgement and use your common sense. Relationships take work and being from 2 different cultures and religions takes even more work. And then on top of that add the online part of it and it makes it even more difficult to keep a realtionship going. But, we have discussed this and we are both open to compromise and I am willing to do what is necessary to make this relationship work. And I need to make it clear about something you said. I do not support terrorism, child molestors, or abusers. In fact I am very involved in the fight against child abuse as part of my job. And you know as well as I do they have to go through very strict background checks and processes to even get a visa and yes the visa's are few and far between. And that goes for any 3rd world country not just Morocco. I am not looking for anything coming on here and you can keep on saying what you like. But everything has 2 sides and I just wanted to point that out. Best wishes to you and anybody else who reads this.
