Response & update...Reader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by Margaret (Poland), Jun 8, 2009 at 05:18 Where did you get this piece of writing? Sounds to me like originally ( if any of it is true) it was written by Iranian, Iraqi or Egyptian lady and then changed to a Moroccan one. First of all nobody in Morocco practising female circumsicion, secondly that is nothing to do with islam. This is only a cultural practise (disgusting , ancient method to control females by rejecting them any sexual pleasure). Also this is practised in some central, east and west African countries, where people are not even muslims. Did you notice as well not even one town in Morocco been mentioned, sounds to me like an author never even been to Morocco... I can find plenty examples in America and Europe, where children are beeing beatten, raped and neglected by their own families for years, women beeing abused, raped by their husbands. So please, don't write things like that and pretend that it's happening only in muslim families. Some people who doesn't know a lot about islam, muslim culture and never been to Morocco actually will believe this kind of nonsense. Did your muslim male friend from Morroco told you so? the piece about female circucision is a minor detail as she mentioned only that her grandmother was circumcised...Or did you ask all the Moroccan women there? You can contact the author on the council of ex muslims- she is an admin "Berberella" I will tell you a secret- the author fears for her life still- so that maybe the reason that the details are not mentioned- her step mum threatened to murder her little sister now- cause she does not follow the rules of islam- she told her too that if she (Berberella) only have older brother her problem would be solved differently... She is writing her blog still- the details are quite chilling- but I guess that no matter what I say- you will live in your delusion that it has nothing to do with islam... Update on Berberella situation: anyway my sister came here yesterday. Today my step mother phones me up and we spoke about my sister and the way she refuses to tow the muslim line anymore and keeps running away from home and hanging out with boys. do you know what she said to me? she said that because of islam she could easily get my brother to kill my sister now and that she was tempted. I went mental. she lets my brother do whatever he wants . He even sells drugs and she lets him yet she thinks thats ok and only my sister. Her daughter is fcked up enough to be killed. she said that if i had had older brothers she would have had me killed too when i went off the rails after she put me in a coma. she kept going on about how i was going to mess up her head and make her hate the religion too. i dont even feel that i need to do or say anything to make my sister leave islam eventually. Just saying she should have her killed was enough to make my 15 year old sister understand more why i despise islam. anyway my sister is still with me. I dont know what to do. should i get my sister taken away from them to a place of safety? Im going to see what my sister wants to do first but if i help her leave home for good. They really will never forgive me. Not that i should even care but i do obviously. if my sister does want to leave for good i will help her of course. I could do no less. My sister ended up going back home, my parents convinced her through a whole bunch of false promises, and my brother who lives with me put so much pressure on her with aggression (oh believe me we had some major words about that), my other sister pressured her, and inspite of my support she felt she had no real choice but to go home. Now I know that if she wants to run again she won't feel like she can turn to me because my brother lives here. I did tell him that this is my house, and that if I invite someone to my house he has no say in it and that if he ever did what he did to my sister again I would kick him out in favour of her. He actually used violence against her in my house, it was a horrible scene, I couldn't stop him, I managed to get him off of her and I threw him out of the house, but after that she didn't feel she could honestly stay. She says it was her choice but I know she left because of what he did. I have told her that I would kick him out if he ever attempted to do something like that again, I guess I just have to wait and see whether she will take that option. My parents false promises didn't last long and my step mother is still ranting to high heaven about her right to kill her daughter for the shame she is bringing. It's all still ongoing.
