It does seem like a front, and here is why:Reader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by Straight_Talk_Luigi (United States), Aug 9, 2009 at 00:03 Dear Irish Gal: Welcome, and thank you for sharing! Before I give my response, I want to you relax and think about how and why you came to this site. If you must ask third parties on-line for advice, there is something very wrong here, and that wrong, Irishgirl, is that your feminine instincts are simply not allowing you to trust this man. This is in large part because the internet takes away most of the communication that you would have a on real date. Beleive it or not, only 30% of our communication is done with words. This puts you and every other soul on this site in the same situation at a disadvantage. You are merely infatuated with him. Perhaps its because Irish men have treated you like garbage, or maybe you are simply attracted to this man for his looks and because he seems nice. Well, don't all scammers and liars and players, since they are after everything from a visa to sex to money to bragging rights. At any rate, no one can blame you for being attracted to or for showing interest in a man who gives you attention and makes you feel good. What nice feelings, eh? To be appreciated. But you must understand what is happening and keep your wits about you. The trouble is, Irishgirl, you have doubts, and as a woman, these cannot be wished away on here, nor should they be. It truly is good advice for all women to acknowledge these doubts, which you have by coming on here. First of all, if this man is religious and you and he do not see eye-to-eye on customs like circumcision and wearing the hijab, you've got some major cultural differences, and I think the only reason he is still talking to you is that in the back of his mind, he knows that he will win out over you since he is the man of house and you will be moving to Morocco. I would guess that 9 out of 10 times (probably even more than that) the man gets his way with the stuff you two are arguing about. If you have not already done so, please read Dr. Pipes postings above the comments section. The second concern here is jealously. From where he seems to stand, IrishGirl, what this man means by jealousy is that you will be confined to the house and will not be allowed to see or have male friends. Quite unlike your playful discussion with your average Irish lad about a hot blonde walking down the street as you two have coffee. Third, this is all happening wayyyy to fast. Two months is way to soon to talk about living together and marriage. You don't even know if you're phermones will like each other. You say you have something??? All you have are a series of on-line conversations that may or not involve him being honest. You're even asking us what Moroccan men want. That question is illogical, because not all Moroccan men are the same. All that is really relevant here is that your man wants you to be a subservient, submissive woman who does his bidding at the snap of his fingers. I get the clear distinction this is not what you want. I can also see why you are ruling the visa scam----because he wants you to go to Morocco. Well, there are other motives men have besides a visa. Money, sex, using your womb to make little jihadists. The usual male stuff, and Muslim men from Morocco are no more immune to it than anyone else. I think you are quite correct about his ideas on marriage. For on-line players and scammers, all it is a legal document with the state that gives them the advantage. These folks are notorious for waiting until marriage before revealing who they truly are. And it's not like it happens right after you say "I do" either. It can take months, even years before the real person finally emerges. And it's not just Moroccan men who have pulled this stunt either. I really do not see this working out for you, Irishgirl. This man does not seem to be willing to compromise at all, and I'm not even convinced that you'll like life in Morocco. Have you been there before, or even investiagated it? It's quite different from living in Ireland, that's for sure. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
