Luigi, internet dating, Moroccans etc

You generalized me in that you've evaluated my entire character as "naive" based on a few paragraphs on the internet. Sweeping enough for me.

Talking of contradiction, you have consistently criticized online dating and yet you have hooked up with several needy or scheming women via social networking websites. Discuss?

I HOPE Lisa's relationship is real... I have nothing against intercultural relationships... I admit I do have a problem with certain online dating scenarios, where the outcome is clear for everyone to see. Lisa strikes me as intelligent and streetwise, and I've seen no major red flags between Simo and she. Maybe there have been some, but they've passed me by...

I supported Lisa before I even saw her Myspace. Schmaltzy wedding photos are incapable of swaying my judgement.

I have no personal or selfish vendetta at all. I have nothing against anyone, as long as their character is what I deem honest, I don't see people as their race or social status... and therefore I'm not out to defend an entire culture. I'm sure statistics are very important in the field of science and several other fancy-pantsy departments, but on the mean streets they don't mean jack most of the time - I wish they did, but when have they really helped anyone lately?

Trying to downplay my intelligence, eh? Cute. Especially when you've accused so many Arab and Muslim men of attempting to lower women's self-esteem. Really, Luigi, it's schoolyard behaviour and it doesn't contribute to anything positive.

I don't really care how anyone perceives me on here, I know who I am and I'm proud. I say "lol" because I have a sense of humour. Excuse my adolescence.

Why does Simo concern you? What do you think his intentions are? And where is your concrete evidence?

Well I'm against people dating for vanity and showing off, but not everyone in a mixed relationship does this. Those who do are usually suffering from Narcissism. I see it around me all the time, with people of the same race

Oh yeah, yeah I agree, but the internet is serious business, and there's nothing you can do about that. Even you know this, what with you meeting ladies on Myspace. Also, you will find people with mental disorders prowling bars, outside schools and on the streets... they're really not fussy, it's just that the internet provides predators a more anonymous and slick way to target victims (ie. lonely women) and calculate schemes.

I'm aware of that, Luigi, it's just that, if you catch up with the world a tad you'll find that it's becoming quite a phenomenon in Morocco lately, with the country emerging as a sex tourism hotspot - not just for women, but for paedophiles. It's well-known in the Middle East, and Moroccan women have an iffy reputation throughout.

Well, there you have it. Moroccan men will even rent out their own women for the almighty dollar. Sick people of ALL races don't care who they target, they will target anyone who doesn't massage their ego or lifestyle.

Oh wow, Luigi, thanks for restoring my faith in mankind. You've just summed up the male of the species in a sentence, gone are my naive expectations of Prince Charming... I anticipate marriage hahaha

Few relationships are perfect, on all scales.

Most Moroccan men who prefer to marry Moroccan women do so because it's what's expected of them and because they're patriotic/untrusting of other races... especially Imazighen, who are "like" really proud of their heritage. It has nothing to do with looks.

What does looking like a slut have to do with online dating? I'm baffled. I'd say it's the opposite, that women are scared of looking like wallflowers, while their men drool over pornstars

The difference with you and Hisham is that he doesn't attack women's characters and accuse random people of being mentally unsound.

No one said that Islam is behind anything? Usually these burns are caused by hypocrites, emotional abusers using religion as a crutch, con artists, mama's boy syndrome and a handful of personality disorders.

I'm done here. Every time I post something, I'm attacked and I can't express my opinion without you insulting its juxtaposition with yours. I myself am open to new ideas and suggestions, and try to develop and improve. But others, especially full-grown adults, are really stuck in their views and it's a shame. Again, there are few results here. Everything winds up in the same direction, and any psychologist will tell you that merely telling people not to do something will only make matters worse. You have to dig beneath the surface... these women are on here for a reason, they are going through serious problems. Women don't choose to be in these scenarios. Try telling a sexual predator to stop abusing his niece or nephew, think it'll work? That's why there's so much corruption, people aren't open enough about off-key or natural feelings. They become curious and go to places they shouldn't... you tell someone not to do something, they'll be even more tempted.

I wish good luck to everyone. It's not a good idea to fall for empty promises and love words, but don't drown in negativity either. And whatever happens, you won't be the same person but you will become stronger for it, and then no one will be able to hurt you again unless you allow them to.
