The "Urfi" Contract

If the man you contracted with ever finds out you ever married another Egyptian and are actually living in Egypt with him, and if he is spiteful and mean, he could have you sent to jail for being married twice.Your not allowed 2 marriages, but men are allowed 4. Yes, that man could wave that paper in an Egyptian courtroom, whether it be white paper or green paper full of stamps and misspellings, and proclaim you HIS wife and would probably get away with it because your not Egyptian and they would like to make an example of you as a loose western type. They all stick together. Your looking at up to 10 years of hard jail time too....and they don't play around with sentencing foreigners unless your "somebody" or your country fights for your freedom publicly. More than likely if your contracted hubby found out he would just blackmail you and your new man with that signed paper for money until you'd just want to swim home in the middle of the night to escape Egypt and jail. I know some parts of Egypt are pretty and intriguing, but that's not enough to risk your life for. Hawaii is pretty to, try there for a vacation and see how you like it. I agree with everyone else, just stay out of Egypt forever and consider yourself lucky to have gotten out unscathed. Those men are not interested in your love and care. He's on to the next victim by now.
