Trudie: here is a story about "sibling marriage" for you - scary stuff

They do marry cousins. Never heard of a real sibling marriage before, but I don't doubt anything can happen there. Morocco is one strange place, full of strange people, doing strange things. I will tell you this sad story. I knew of a Moroccan man that was passing off his wife as his sister and their daughter as his younger sister so he could marry an American woman. Mind you, the man's parents were in the house also. None of the Moroccan women spoke English and never left the house so they were virtual prisoners to his demands. The whole family was waiting for their chance to immigrate and said nothing of course. He was the golden eagle flying to the land of the free and all protected him for their sake. Let me tell you this also: The Quran allows deceit if it benefits the spreading of Islam or protects a Muslim from an infidel. Making babies in the name of Islam is a noble cause, don't ya think? LOL Anyway, the American found out later, after she was already married and happily trying to fill in visa papers for her new "hubby", from a friend of the family that showed up that spoke ok English, got her alone amazingly, and finally told her what a dummy she was. This was a woman that was previously rejected by the guy. She was lucky to find out. These sleazy operations are usually done with the skill of professional thieves, and they share the loot by offering help to immigrate other's later. Of course you'll have a friend or relative for another family member that wants to marry too. They will always ask....without shame too. Sometimes jealousy, or the inability to make deals to get out of Morocco with families trying to get a sham marriage going leads to them telling on each other. I always say make friends with the most jealous friend of your Moroccan fiances' that you can find because they always talk too much out of envy. It's the Moroccan way! Do you see how deep these folks get with the lies just to immigrate???? It's insane! Stay far, far away from North Africa and the Middle East unless you know the culture and grew up there. Be good to yourself Trudie. Your all you have in the end.
