To is it wrong---here are the facts--- a respectful replyReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by Straight_Talk_Luigi (United States), Jul 19, 2010 at 04:14 I am a US citizen and I don't think this at all. America is a society with much interracial mixing. You may notice this more if you live in an urban area, however, according to the 2000 US Census, most people prefer to date and marry in their race and culture. The numbers are overwhelmingly in favor of people dating within their culture despite all the internet bruh-ha-ha of white men/Asian women couples and white women/black men couples featured on interracial porn videos or kissing youtube videos, the big "angry Asian man" pity party on you-tube and magazine articles that say how "they are on a role" and of course, the never-ending racism and self-loathing/teen angst on topix between everything from American Hispanics, Asians, Whites and Blacks to Turkish/Greek jokes and of course discussions on the Armenian genocide that have more pointed fingers than all the flicking-off photos you can find on myspace. Also, I would like to point out that white men are more likely to date interracially in the US than white women and that white men/black women marriages are increasing a rate much faster than white women/black men marriages. I doubt these numbers will have changed much when the new 2010 figures are released. As I stated earlier, white men are more likely to date interracially, but they are also more likely to date internationally and often get themselves into a lot more trouble with it (Craigslist exempted) than women do. There's families from all over the world who run businesses here. Disagreeing with someone's relationship is not judging, especially when they come onto a blog that says in big bold font "Advice to non-Muslim women against dating Muslim men". Most of the scammers described on here are not poor, or at least not as poor you think. They know English, obviously, so that says something, and they also have internet access. In the old world, it's not like you can just go to a library and use the internet all day like over here. A lot of places charge for it, and I think we all know it's not something a poor person can afford. Speaking of being poor, you ought to see how well the Nigerian 411 scammers dress. Nice suits and ties and everything. The current stereotype about who dresses best is gay men are numero uno. In any case, it's pretty clear to me that the weather is the biggest factor that affects how Americans dress. Most decent Arabic/Muslim/Moroccan man is bound to make their marriage last. Most decent Arabic/Muslim men are also not looking to scam, cheat or lie about themselves on-line for personal gain and they are most likely looking for a decent Arabic/Muslim woman. Now, do you think that America is the place to find that when he's got so many choices? You mention Morocco? There's more women in Morocco than men. Most decent men PERIOD are not on the internet in the wee hours of the morning looking for women because they have to work the next day and must keep regular hours. That is not good enough. It's easy to say "well, not ALL men are bad". Women in relationships on here who say that then tend to think it means what they have is the real deal. A man from another country could be the best father and husband ever and still not be a good match for an American woman and vice versa. The problem is that potential international relationships are already loaded with scammers, and then you have your usual percentage of liars and cheats, and then the cultural differences. It's an uphill battle that most people just don't have the time or energy for, namely because one can never be certain enough to trust that person due to the lack off communication. Just look at the posts on this forum. Our posts even cause married women to pause and re-examine their situation, which I want to say I commend them for, because I'm sure it's not an easy task. I'm going to need to see some evidence of this. It's clear from the situations on this board that an man will act like he is single, but in truth his family already has a woman for him to marry. This is actually been going on for sometime, and men seem to be scammed much more easier than women. Believe me when I tell you the consulate will not be vetting your partner to see if you are a good match. They have other concerns like national security, foreign policy interests and child sex trafficking. There's a reason why during the civil rights movement in this country the divorce rate skyrocketed, and one of those reasons was that people dated each other just to be different. People who date on the basis of skin colour or race, a common theme in your post, I might add, date and marry only on a person's appearance. So I ask you, is that wise even if it makes you feel good to show off that you have someone so radically different than you in public? The stories on here are hardly comparable to two Americans of a different race meeting and dating in real life. The situations on here involve not only different skin colour, but vastly different cultures and a fraction of the communication over the phone and internet. There are a lot of comments on this page, but I don't think you've really done your homework to be comparing relationships. The whole race argument doesn't go very far on here at all.
Is it wrong to have an entirely different opinion than yours? You're missing the point when you ask questions like "Is it so wrong to be different or think different?" The fact that you are even on here engaging in a discussion speaks volumes to us. Obviously, you have some personal interest in the matter at hand, and I would like to know what that is.
