ALL women are potential targets

So I guess what I'm trying to say is - women the world over are vulnerable to abuse. Be it the American woman being conned for a green card, or the Iraqi woman being married off as blood money. Or vice versa.

That's not to say every man is an abuser, nor every Muslim man. The whole purpose of this board is to inform women of the red flags and cultural differences when dating a Muslim man. Not every relationship will be a scam, but it will be a major life decision, as it's 99% of the time the woman that has to bend to the man. Usually to please mum.

So, ultimately what all readers need to ask themselves is - yes this man is handsome, but. AM I willing to sacrifice some of/all of my prior habits and lifestyle choices in order to maintain the relationship. Not every Muslim man will require you to wear hijab, although the religion thing can be trickier if you have kids. You can get a very good idea of the kind of life you'll lead by how his female relatives are treated. If they are chained to the kitchen sink and only allowed out to run errands, then... well let's just say that's not a good sign. If they are outspoken and educated, then you know you'll have a good social network if things go wrong.

I've probably said it before but all men - including non Muslim ones - can be pretty rigid. They are biologically wired to provide, sow their seed and protect. You can sit even the most liberal guy, maybe even a self-professed feminist, down in a strip club, and I promise you he will show some form of disrespect. So you have to treat Muslim men as you would any other guy, but with more self-awareness and knowledge of his religion. And always, always have boundaries.
