Second of all, you'd be surprised to hear that some men from third world countries are ready to enter anywhere in Europe, be it Greece, Poland or the U.K. Greece (as well as Turkey and Italy) is in fact a popular transit point for immigrants and traffickers looking to move further west. In addition to that, a lot of these men have an unrealistic idea of Europe, so he might not have had a clue about the economic situation in Greece.
