Re: to Kathy**turkish manReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by american girl (United States), Feb 5, 2007 at 18:01 Thank-you for taking the time to write back to what i wrote :) everything you said made a lot of sense! I have a daughter I am a very young mom, he is really really older then me and if he has children he has to do it now . I think he sees me with my daughter and it makes him want one of his own.I care about him a lot. i couldnt eat or sleep for like a week when he first left! I want to leave him alone but I can't because he looks just like george clooney and george clooney's hoottt lol. he has sexy accent (okay those arent the real reasons but they dont hurt lol! ) and his culture really interests me. he is smart and treats me good. he is very caring hes always telling me to eat healthier I am skinny and eat alot of crap like macaroni and chees.e he cooked for me and made me turkish rice and meat one time, it was soooo good. best food i have had ! I told him i couldnt cook and was prob a disgrace to his culture lol. he told me he would teach me hahaheh. i remember one time I had to walk to the bank and I dont drive (his car had just got taken off of the road) so I had to walk (which i didn't really mind because i like to go for walks) but anyways its a long walk and he didnt want me to have to walk alone so he came with me which was really sweet, and then when I was cold he gives me his coat....I know its bad but I am with my daughter's father, not married though (and he doesn want to marry me) and he treats me like garbage. He doesn't care what I eat, He doesn't care if I have to walk by myself for a long ways in a kind of shitty area, he doesn't care if i go for a walk alone in the dark ( i dont like to do that lol but he kicked me out one night and I had no choice ! which really made my muslim friend" mad! ). If I walk outside with my hair wet and its cold my boyfriend doesn't care but my muslim friend" would be like ohhhh your going to get sick.. he seems to be very caring genuinely not just because hes trying to impress me or something. he's very americanized he is muslim but does not go to mosque every friday and smokes cigarettes has american friends and lots of turkish friends too, nothing wrong with that! I understand why he wants to be in turkey for every reason that you listed... Im just mad that he lied to me about it . I don't think that he doesn't like americans,, he just said that most american men are like jerks and they aren't like that in turkey prob because I was always complaining to him about the way I was being treated by my american man. he's jealous he told me on phone from turkey that when he would see me with my boyfriend/daughters father he would pace up and down and get pissed off (it was a messed up situation we actually rent apartments at the same house). but now when he comes home in April he wants me to live with him and marry him. he has said he is not an extreme" muslim but he is still a muslim...I dont think I could picture him dropping to the ground 5 times a day for prayer. when I first moved in here I actually hated all muslims and people from the middle east after 911, but after living in a house with a bunch of muslims from turkey and landlords from pakistan) the pakistani's are definitely more strict then the turkish man. he would tell me that they are not like arabs in those ways. I have been very interested about their culture and muslim religion especially since I love this man I want to see what he is all about... when I first met this man and these people i knew nothing about the muslim religion now after reading about it a lot I feel like I know sooo much more. not all muslim people are bad actually for eid the pakistani landlords wife made me pakistani food and it was really nice of he.r thats what muslims do on eid they give to their neighbors/poor! My turkish man told me he would teach me to drive because my american boyfriend hasn't. he thinks if i get a car im going to be out hanging out with friend up to no good, so he keeps me stuck ! My turkish man told me has asked if i want to go to school for a career. I dont even have a high school diploma cause i got pregnant my last yr ! but he has told me he would want me to go to school if thats what i wanted...I am a stay at home mom and I really dont mind it. I like taking care of and being with my daughter and he has told me that if thats what I want then he will try his best to support me/us ! So it's hard for me to just up and leave my daughter's father in april for this turkish man, but I am seriously considering it ! because i do love him Im just torn and I am young and confused as it is lol. I havent talked to him on phone since uhhhh 2 wks and 2 days he has been gone for like exactly a month i talked to him alot the first half of mnth which cost me 30$ for like 120min. phone card geezzz lol. but i think he hasn't called because last time we really talked i kind of told him he was a jerk lol. but im sure he will call me eventually, because i do believe that he really does care..
