Jihad is not a struggle withinReader comment on item: What is Jihad? Submitted by Forrest (United States), Mar 18, 2007 at 15:02 To get the meaning of Jihad we need not use my opinions or your opinions, but we need to go to the source for the answer. Despite the efforts of the media and academia at political corrctness, Islam means submission, not peace. submission to the complete will of allah and the duties laid out in the Quran for his followers, and this includes jihad. the Hans Wher Dictionary of Modern Written Arabic defines Islam as submission, resignation. Quran 49-15 states: The believers are only those who believe in Allah and his Apostle, then they doubt not and struggle hard with their wealth and their lives in the way of Allah; they are the truthful ones. Jihad is not just a struggle with the temptations in life, but the struggle to wage war against the infidels, to protect the nation of Islam from the heathens and to convert them to Islam. This is Islams definition of peace. Muhammad explained in one of the Hadiths: Allah's apostle was asked What is the best deed? He replied to believe in Allah and his Apostle. The queistioner then asked What is the next? He replied, to participate in Jihad (war) in Allahs cause. The definition of jihad, according to scholars such as Ibn qudamah AL-Maqdisi, Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn Aabideen is: Exhausting the utmost effort fighting for the sake of Allah, directly by your body or by assisting by money or by your saying or by recruiting Mujahideen (islamic fighters) or by any other means to help fighting," According to Maliki Fiqh Imam Ibn Arafa, Jihad is "a Muslim to fight the infidel without a treaty, for the sake of Allah to make his name the highest through his presence." Shaafi: Jihad is "to fight the (infidels) for the sake of Allah by your body or money or tongue or by recruiting the people." Said to Hanbali: Jihad means "to start to fight the (inidels) whether as a Fard Kifayah (acquired knowledge) or Fard ayn (revealed knowledge_ i.e., both are mandatory one for teh community of muclims and one for the individual muslim protecting the believers from the infidels or guarding the border or frontier and to fight in the front line is the iillar." All four major Islamic schools of thought agree that jihad is ot merely a personal struggle, but a call to wage war on the infidels by all means possible: giving money and recruitiing and training people are also means of jihad. surah 47-4 "When you meet the unbelievers in jihad, chop off their heads. and when you have brought them low, bind your prisoners rigorously. Then set them free or take ransom from them until the war is ended." Surah 48-29 "Muhammad is allahs apostle. Thos who follow him are ruthless to the unbelievers but merciful to one another." Surah 5:33-34 "Those that make war against Allah and his apostle and spread disorder in the land shall be slain or crucified or have their hands and feet cut off on alternate sides, or be banished from the land. they shall be held up to shame in this world and sternly punished in the hereafter" Surah 8:12-13 "Allah revealed his will to the angels, saying: "I shall be with you. Give courage to the believers. I shall cast terror into the hearts of teh infidels. Strikke off their heads, strike off the very tips of their fingers! That was because they defied Allah and his apostle. He that defies Allah and his apostle shall be sternly punished by Allah." Surah 8-37 "In order that Allah may separate the pure from the impure, put all the impure ones (i.e.,non muslims) one on top of the other in a heap and cast them into heill. They will have been the ones to have lost." Surah 8-60 "Muster against them (I.e. non muslims) all the men and cavalry at your command, so that you may strike terror into the enemy of Allah and your enemy, and others besides them who are unknown to you but known to Allah." surah 9-73 "Prophet, make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites, and deal harshly with them. Hell shall be their home" an evil fate." Surah 17:16-17 When we resolve to raze a city, wr first give warning to those of its people who live in comfort. If they persist in sin, judgment is irrevocably passed, and wi destroy it utterly." Surah 21:11-15 We have destroyed manhy a sinful nation and replaced them by other men. And when they felt Our Might they took to their heels and fled. They were told: "Do not run away. Return to your comforts and to your dwellings. You shall be questioned all. Woe betide us, we have done wrong was their reply. and this they kdpt repeating until wi mowed them down and put out their light. This is the true meaning of Jihad. Not taken out of context and taken from their own literature as preached in Mosques since Mohammads time. Mohammad preached this, as do all Muslims who are true to the Muslim faith. Jihad and belief in the last day is the most important doctrines in muslim theology. As you can see they are not a peacful sect at all. I know this is not politically correct but this is the truth. Political Correctnesss is one of the things that is destroying us and weakening us in the fight of our enemies.
