Israel is not Serbia

Serbia, even under the worst of conditions, did not expect to be physically liquidated. Which is why it offered only feeble resistance. Israel, knowing it WILL be liquidated once exposed, will down any plane coming its way. NATO, should it be mobilized against israel, (as some American academics demand it should) will find itself blown out of the sky. Remember the Liberty? That was at the time Israel was left exposed to four Arab armies armed to the teeth by the Russians (Egypt Syria and Iraq) and the US/Britain (the occupying power of transjordan). NATO will not survive an onslaught on Israel, nor will the local Arabs.
