Mansoor: Try to absorb first hand information not third hand ones in the Koran.Reader comment on item: Resisting Islamic Law Submitted by Plato (India), Mar 13, 2008 at 08:40 Mansoor, you write: >> I totally disagree and I am not a person to switch my thoughts our step back or forward if any concept is imposed on me which is colliding with Allah's commandment<< What you are saying is that your mind is set in cement. Facts, reason, logic, history and science are immaterial to you and only commandments supposedly given third hand to you (From Allah to the dog-fearing Gabriel to Muhammad) in the Koran are your guiding lights. If you cannot deal with first hand information, tough luck is all I can say. >>The man made system, which Plato is emphasizing to support, has numerous loopholes.<< The man made systems are derived from Allah-given ones as all our present laws have some religious pedigree. Because they had more loopholes than an acrobat would be able to wriggle through humans had to plug the more gaping among the holes. Slave-keeping for instance. Allah and Muhammad had no problem with keeping and dealing in slaves. Man found this to be a despicable practice and so banned it everywhere on earth including the reluctant Muslim countries. Aren't you glad that man has closed this loophole left by Allah. If man had not closed that immoral and unethical loophole, today 75,000 Pakistani soldiers would be washing the toilets and mopping the floors of Indian houses. Millions of Iraqis and Afghans would be house slaves in the US, Israel and Britain. Be happy that man can cock a snook at Allah's laws. There are many loopholes yet to be closed. You have heard of Deoband, the home of Islamic scholars in India. When a woman was raped by her father-in-law the scholars of Islam ruled that she was hence forth haram for her husband and halal for the rapist. Shouldn't this Allah-made loophole also be plugged. At Al Azhar, touted as the pinnacle of Islamic scholarship, a scholar declared that if a working woman breast fed a colleague then there is no harm their being together alone at work. You think he was joking or I am lying? Neither. He was a true Islamic scholar and he got it out of a Shahi hadith. 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Salim, the freed slave of Abu Hadhaifa, lived with him and his family in their house. She (i. e. the daughter of Suhail came to Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) and said: Salim has attained (purbety) as men attain, and he understands what they understand, and he enters our house freely, I, however, perceive that something (rankles) in the heart of Abu Hudhaifa, whereupon Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) said to her: Suckle him and you would become unlawful for him, and (the rankling) which Abu Hudhaifa feels in his heart will disappear. She returned and said: So I suckled him, and what (was there) in the heart of Abu Hudhaifa disappeared. >>For example the system which he advocates gives complete liberty to even that person who loves to commit serious crimes. The system which harbors the criminal trend is not a successful system. Islam with utmost fierceness and with Laws like chopping hands and feet gives a clear signal to those who have slightest intention of committing such crime.<< Take your Pakistan, Mansoor, who wants to come and live there with all the limbs and heads showering the streets. You cannot even feel safe in the houses you have built for Allah. They seem to have become special targets for Allah's slaves. You don't have sharia, right? But then most Pakistanis are Muslims and so believe in sharia so what makes sharia believers shed so much blood? What about the fierce implementation of sharia in Afghanistan. Apart from chopping up limbs and heads their sharia also called for caning if your beard was less than regulation length, women could not poke their heads outside without sealing themselves inside thick fabric. Saudis also enforce sharia but yet you see heads being chopped on Fridays. And the Saudis never publish crime statistics for fear of tainting the fair face of Islam. Especially the daily crimes committed against women by men. Among them thrashings for disobedience and honour killings for suspected dalliances with men. >> To my best understanding, the whole universe is following Allah's commandment, if for just mere 10 minutes, the earth refuses to enforce gravitational force, what would be the fate of us in such a short time, can you imagine????. If the atmospheric gases which are the source of life on this planet vanish for mere 15 minutes, what will you do???? If the water of oceans is absorbed completely by earth, what will you do????<< You are here asking these questions because our particular universe and this earth in this solar system supports life. There are planets even in our solar system that do not support life as there is no water or atmosphere there. What are all those planets doing uselessly revolving around the sun? Why would an all-knowing Allah waste his time on them? Gravity is a quality of our particular universe and there is no reason for other universes not to exist without any life in them. The Allah of your Koran talks of the sun setting in a pool of water. So can you believe this Koran when it tells you Allah created and sustains the universe? Only under-educated mullahs who have known nothing but outdated science can have taught you that. Despite all your fervent prayers this Allah is unable to protect you from tsunamis, earthquakes and diseases. The mullahs of course told you that they happen as punishment for our sins. Did you care to ask them why they also strike Muslim countries who follow Allah's laws. Your mullah has an answer for that too. Muslims have not fully implemented Allah's laws! You see, Mansoor, infidels like me can tell you exactly how your Koran-trained mullahs think. Piece of cake. >> Human goes against Allah's will throughout his/her life, and still expect to get the cake of salvation? I think there no bigger joke than this.<< You tell a good joke, Mansoor. You had me laughing my head off with your assault on Allah's power. I hope you are using a pseudonym. If a mullah in Pakistan sees this he might put a fatwa on you, allowing your blood. You just told us that Allah is a powerless being. Ask yourself how can a human go against Allah's will throughout his/her life. Or even for a micro-second?? If you say we can, then is your Allah worth worshipping? Will His cake of salvation be worth all the effort you have put in? Regards, Plato Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
