To Mansoor: On the edge men have over women in IslamReader comment on item: Resisting Islamic Law Submitted by Plato (India), Apr 12, 2008 at 08:55 Mansoor, you wrote: >>There is no point you can differ me with a tricky approach..<< Tricky approach? I thought the Koran had answers to all questions however tricky. What are the tricks I have used to trick you? >>The verses, the commandments and information I quote are to the point and clear. I would once again repeat that it is bad luck for Muslims that they slowly left the commandments which were when followed, proved to be the ensurer of Islamic supremacy……. I understand presently it is very difficult to bring those days back...but i said it difficult, not impossible...The destiny is to flush our blood out...to bring our golden days back..<< You are rambling on about how Muslims are down on their luck (Was Allah sleeping?) and you expect them to recover, predictably by drenching themselves and others in blood exactly as they have done for 1400 years. The days will not be golden, Mansoor, they will be bloody. >>They are well guarded and well respected. But Allah has given edge to Men over Women just to ensure the smooth running of social system. Breach of this system has resulted the abundance of whores, prostitutes, playgirls....<< Wonderful, Mansoor, Allah creates a system that gives the edge to men! Could Allah with all his powers not create a system that gave equality to both the sexes? Mansoor, tell us, is a system that gives equality or a system that creates inequality superior?? Mansoor, you must answer these questions and not ramble on about other matters or dismiss these important issues airily by saying this is the way Allah has ordered things. Other faiths could also say that this is the way their god (their Allah) has ordered things. The Hindus can with equal justification claim that the caste system is the way their Allah has ordered the world just as your Allah has ordered that women be the slaves of men. Do you have any objection to the caste system, Mansoor?? >>I strongly reject your plea to women rights where women are subjected to sexual harassment, subjected to find their own sex partners, fatherless children, abortions, addiction of drugs, AIDs, forced sex, raping etc.<< Mansoor, I do not know by what complex Islamic logic you came to the conclusion that giving women equal rights means subjecting them to sexual harassment or having fatherless children, forced sex, rapes etc. All I can see is you are justifying rapes, harassment and other crimes men, and especially Muslim men, inflict on women on their having equal rights (remember the Australian imam who said women who dressed as they wished were uncovered meat?). Did the Koran teach you this, Mansoor?? >>Now you would shout even louder...but I would say that you cannot compare extremely rare cases of atrocities committed by muslim individuals because I am comparing the trend prevailed in the western countries to that in Islamic countries..<< What makes you say that crimes by Muslims against women are extremely rare? You have given two links one is about crime statistics in the USA and the other one does not lead anywhere and says I have reached an invalid webpage. To begin with Islamic nations have very poor record keeping capabilities compared to the West. Crimes against women also go unreported because of the shame it is supposed to bring the families, especially crimes committed by males against females in the family. Rapes quite often go unreported because the woman herself may end up in jail if she cannot get witnesses to it! Read this about honour and other killings in Pakistan: (http://www.hrw.org/reports/1999/pakistan/Pakhtml-01.htm#P160_8127) Women in Pakistan face staggeringly high rates of rape, sexual assault, and domestic violence while their attackers largely go unpunished owing to rampant incompetence, corruption, and biases against women throughout the criminal justice system. Women who report rape or sexual assault encounter a series of obstacles. These include not only the police, who resist filing their claims and misrecord their statements, but also medicolegal doctors, who focus on their virginity status and lack the training and supplies to conduct adequate examinations. As for the trial in rape cases, typically, in the words of a Lahore district attorney, "The past sexual history of the victim is thrown around and touted in court to the maximum." Furthermore, women who file rape charges open themselves up to the possibility of being prosecuted for illicit sex if they fail to "prove" rape under the 1979 Hudood Ordinances, which criminalize adultery and fornication. As a result, when women victims of violence resort to the judicial system for redress, they are more likely to find further abuse and victimization. Also visit this site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honor_killing So, yes Masood, I am "shouting louder" that Islam treats women as sex objects who get no justice for assaults on their person and their dignity from the sharia laws.
