Make no mistake, I am completely against Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Putinism, and believe that there is no long-term way forward, except through Putin's eventual dethronement.
But the "cancelling" of Russian culture and intellectuals in some Western capitals is obviously stupid and wrong. It makes enemies out of the Russian intelligentsia, the people that are most likely to be Western allies against Putin. Plus, the very people behind this hysteria - would they have had enough courage to explicitly denounce Putin, had they been Russian? I doubt that.
These actions are little more than childish tantrum, a phrase that could describe many other things going on with Western culture at the moment.
