We hear that the Russian has indicated a cessation of hostilties for May 9th; an intended break or a cause to pause in order to determine if any actual advancement of the cause is within reach or is an intermediate goal now within the realm of Russian control of a warm water access to the region to the south. Russia has always been perceived as isolated and always striving to hold on to warm water access inorder to be a viable global presence with far reaching naval activity. The unfortunate incident wih the Moskva is part of that cost; an analysis of that is still pending, but does that calculate in the pause to evaluate just exactly what does the Russian leader actually hope to achieve. More importantly, what would he be willing to sacrifice to achieve his ultimate goal?
