A mercy to mankind

Ahmed,

Without the benefit of reverence, I can easy see Islam as a mercy ot mankind (as perhaps was the intent of so many of man's religions) and that is the standard that I, as someone who does not make my devotions to it, will set to it, as I would to most other of man's actions.
