Spherical earth was notion among the scholars in 12th century. "Fakr Al Razi" pointed to the Sphericity of the earth in his clarifying book "Mafatih Alkaib"

How about Q79:30?

Thats why you have scholars in 12th century saying earth is spherical. While if some say earth is flat. That is due to the philosophy of that period.
