When will they learnReader comment on item: Insight into Obama's Middle East Policy? Submitted by Ken Besig (Israel), Jan 6, 2009 at 07:07 The most disturbing aspect of the Middle East peace process is how little good it has accomplished, that is to say, it has only made the situation worse, for both Israelis and Palestinians. Because of the pro Palestinian land for peace thinking of Messrs. Indyk, Haas, Telhami, Cook, the American State Department, and of course the peripatetic peace monger Dennis Ross, Israel has been forced to take serious military action in the Judenrein Gaza Strip, leaving hundreds of Palestinians dead and wounded, property damage in the billions, and a complete destruction of any credibility about peace between the two sides. And where for God's sake is Barack Obama, the President elect of the United States, while all this carnage and destruction is taking place? If his past behavior is any indication of his future actions, then he is waiting for the dust to settle in Gaza and consulting with his handlers about which side to blame depending on how the political winds are blowing. Thus I fully expect Obama to be told by his largely pro Palestinian handlers like Samantha Powers that it is both just and in his political interest to blame Israel, thus Israel, just like Obama's former spiritual mentor Reverend Wright and once close friend Bill Ayres, will be tossed over the side without much ado. Like the consummate political wheeler dealer he is, Barack Obama certainly cannot be accused of ever having spoken from conviction or principle, but he has always managed to speak and act from political expediency.
