The Witness is Established in the Holy Bible - Jesus Christ is the LORD - By the Prophecies - By His Own WORDReader comment on item: Insight into Obama's Middle East Policy? Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Jan 8, 2009 at 19:45 OK, one more time, let us go through the prophecies and their fulfillments that makes Jesus Christ Who He said He is. First, the prophecies: Isaiah 9:6) For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 30:15) For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not. Isaiah 54:5) For thy Maker [is] thine husband; the LORD of hosts [is] his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. Ezekiel 39:7) So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not [let them] pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I [am] the LORD, the Holy One in Israel. Next, the fulfillments: Matthew 1:23) Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. (An external witness as Jesus Christ prepares to deal with the other world) Luke 4:34) Saying, Let [us] alone; what have we to do with thee, [thou] Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God. Then there is Jesus speaking: John 10:30) "I and [my] Father are one." 31) Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. 32) Jesus answered them, "Many good works have I shown you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?" 33) The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy, and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. (Even the Jews of the time knew exactly what He was saying, which is why they sought to put Him to death – remember Caiaphus' exclamation?) Jesus speaking again John 14:9) Jesus saith unto him, "Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou [then], Shew us the Father?" (see the Isaiah 9:6 reference). What proof would you, or anyone would have, that you have not already rejected. This has been debated by you so many times that it appears there is no longer a search for understanding that has not already been presented that you are willing to accept. Where is the truth in your question, or the opening in your heart for the love of Jesus Christ as he is trying to present Himself to you through His Word? Oh, but wait, it requires faith to accept these beyond their human explanations, which it is presumed you are unwilling to do, or this would not be a matter of debate. Without an open heart to the truth of Jesus Christ, one cannot see who He is, let alone make any assertions about such things in human logic. Open you heart to Jesus Christ and ask Him to show you what the truth is, for beyond the Holy Bible, there is no other place to seek His Truth, nor any ability to receive Him in His love.
