A short reply to kmanReader comment on item: Insight into Obama's Middle East Policy? Submitted by Ianus (Poland), Jan 24, 2009 at 12:14 Hi, kman ! Thanks so much for your thoughts! I'd like to emphasize the (non-theological) points we agree upon and play down those we disagree on. >I take no offense at anything you say,"Ianus", mainly because I used just about all those words at one time, too.< Well, dear friend, who knows what you will think about your statements made today in a couple of years or in a more distant time? You may as well see some weaknesses and small flaws in your line of reasoning. The future hides many a surprise , doesn't it ? > There is much we agree on. I like to talk to Muslims because it gives my mind a break from the heavier weight thinkers like yourself. But, I think some of them use "supposed ignorance" as a tactic to draw off those who don't bother to think. This last election shows there are a lot who fall into the non-thinker category.< With the exception of the words about me, I absolutely agree with you. Kafirs' ignorance is Moslems' strength. Sad, but true. Recently I have come across a petition to pass a EU-wide law criminalizing "Islamophobia" , i.e. anything that debunks the silly myth of the so caled "religion of peace". > I get a lot of Christian publications that describe things happening in the Middle East that counter so much of your reasoning. Muslim militants being turned on a dime to the Christ by his appearing and communicating with them, for one.< Thanks for this good news, dear friend. I welcome any opportunity to be corrected on this or that point. I admit I didn't know these developments. I am pleased to learn I was wrong. > There is a lot you seem to think I buy into about "religion". I tried carefully to show you that not only do I not, but neither does God...< As to God , I don't know if he exists or doesn't exist. Even less do I know anything sure on his intentions, works, emissaries, wisdom, mercy and character and aims etc... I do know though that any statements on that account be they affirmative or negative are confusing, misleading and are based on tautology, faulty semantics or other logical errors. Therefore, I'd like to abstain from commenting your arguments which I respect but can't share for principal reasons. With best regards.
