To Hamri Asad: Mocking cannot be a one-way street

You complain bitterly about the mocking of Islam, Muslims, its prophet and its god. That is really rich coming from the follower of a religion that not just mocks but abuses, curses and urges the subjugation and killing of people of other faiths. Let me step you through some basic facts about your faith about which you apparently are not aware.

MOCKING:

007.176 YUSUF ALI : If it had been Our will, We should have elevated him with Our signs; but he inclined to the earth, and followed his own vain desires. His similitude is that of a dog: if you attack him, he lolls out his tongue, or if you leave him alone, he (still) lolls out his tongue. That is the similitude of those who reject Our signs; So relate the story; perchance they may reflect.

008.055 : For the worst of beasts in the sight of Allah are those who reject Him: They will not believe.

009.028 : O ye who believe! Truly the Pagans are unclean; so let them not, after this year of theirs, approach the Sacred Mosque. And if ye fear poverty, soon will Allah enrich you, if He wills, out of His bounty, for Allah is All-knowing, All-wise.

CURSES/ABUSES

002.088 YUSUF ALI : They say, "Our hearts are the wrappings (which preserve Allah's Word: we need no more)." Nay, Allah's curse is on them for their blasphemy: Little is it they believe.

004.046: Of the Jews there are those who displace words from their (right) places, and say: "We hear and we disobey"; and "Hear what is not Heard"; and "Ra'ina"; with a twist of their tongues and a slander to Faith. If only they had said: "What hear and we obey"; and "Do hear"; and "Do look at us"; it would have been better for them, and more proper; but Allah hath cursed them for their Unbelief; and but few of them will believe.

005.060: Say: "Shall I point out to you something much worse than this, (as judged) by the treatment it received from Allah? those who incurred the curse of Allah and His wrath, those of whom some He transformed into apes and swine, those who worshipped evil;- these are (many times) worse in rank, and far more astray from the even path!"

KILLING

047.004 YUSUF ALI : Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah's Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others….

009.029 : Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

If you know your history you will have read about the prophet ridiculing and cursing the idols of the Arabs of the time. He personally smashed the idols in the Kaaba when he conquered Mecca. The Koran ridicules the Christians and the Jews for their beliefs (trinity, uzair etc).

What did your prophet tell the Meccans who objected to his mocking of their religion? "Will you listen to me, O Quraish? By Him who holds my life in His hand, I bring you slaughter." Ibn Saad, Vol I, 131. Has anyone on this board suggested anything more than what your Prophet wanted to do to the Quraish?

If you will not sit idly by while others mock your prophet and an imagined creator why do you expect the targets for curses, abuses and slaughter from the prophet and the creator to sit idly by and take it all lying down?

You holy book itself does all that and more you accuse unbelievers of doing. Hamri, should mocking, cursing and killing be only a one-way street?

As you say banning Islam will not happen. But before reading the verse I have quoted if you read a scripture telling you that everlasting hatred must exist between the followers of that scripture and those who do not, in your heart of hearts would you wish to ban that faith?

060.004
YUSUFALI: There is for you an excellent example (to follow) in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people: "We are clear of you and of whatever ye worship besides Allah: we have rejected you, and there has arisen, between us and you, enmity and hatred for ever,- unless ye believe in Allah and Him alone"…

The implication is clear; the Koran is telling its followers to follow the example of Abraham who declared hatred of unbelievers in Allah for ever.
