DP's Fear: Will Trump Recognize Jersulalem as "also" a Palestinian Capitol? Depends of What Jer'salem MeansReader comment on item: Poll: Israel Victory Gains Strength Submitted by Robert (United States), Sep 17, 2018 at 17:11 Dear Daniel Pipes, You've been exposed to Trump's "real-estate" world-activities since his presidency began and you still feel worried that he'll take less than all of the Prime Real Estate of Jerusalem? Trump feels extremely strong in his position on Israel and Jerusalem because of his extremely strong alliance with Saudi Arabia, the Gulf States (even Qatar), Egypt, and Jordan. He has reversed course from Obama - and these Sunni Muslim states are extremely appreciative v- especially as to what he's doing to (Shea) Iran, and even (Islamist-Ottoman) Turkey. If the Palestinian were to get "Jerusalem" it would only be in its Suburb, with the passage to the Temple Mount Shrine & Mosque. BUT WE WILL NEVER GET TO THAT,thanks to Abbas & his Fatah which will never accept Hamas in Gaza, and Hamas will never accept the terms of Abbas! You have no material, empirical basis for your fear. It's merely a psychological state due to the shock that Trump is performing so well on Israel. If you are to have any fear whatsoever, it should be over our Liberal and Conservative Jews who make up a significant chunk of the Democratic Party. These are,so to speak, the same Jews who lived through the Holocaust, many of whom were even Anti-Zionist, but also failed miserably in saving the 6,000,000. And I'm not even counting the Leftists,Socialists, or Communists of our brethren on the extreme American Left. The good thing about Jews is that - as Golda Meyer once observed - is that each is a Prime Minister, so that at most, only 2/3 of Jews were against or indifferent to Zionism. But as Abba Eban observed, "the Palestinians never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity." That is still so true today, as it continued to be true since Eban uttered those words. So, Daniel Pipes, instead of worrying about President Trump, focus on how the Palestinians ARE CONTINUING TO SHOOT THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT into the foreseeable future. In other words, whatever Trump proposes, Abbas will not accept - almost ideal for Israel. I anticipate Trump creating a DE FACTO PEACE, instead of a DE JURE PEACE. Do you have a problem with that? The Philistines will thereby "melt" into the rest of the Muslim and Islamist refugees of the Arab Spring.
