Where is Zero? What's a Numeral as Opposed to a Number?Reader comment on item: Poll: Israel Victory Gains Strength Submitted by Robert (United States), Oct 23, 2018 at 15:56 Our Dear Dhimmi still doesn't pay attention very well it seems. 1) Arabs got their Numerals (not Numbers) from the Hindus. So why are you writing about the Arabs? 2) You obviously refuse to pay attention to the distinction between Numbers and Numerals. I was talking about the Latter, not the Former. And, for your information, the Numerals are Symbols - and they they are NOT a part of the ALPHABET. That's why we use the term ALPHA-NUMERIC, to include them. 3) You apparently are not aware of the special status of ZERO in Mathematics. This is so obvious when you list the Number Ten as "10" - and are oblivious to the fact that it is formed by juxtaposing the Numeral ! next to the Numeral 0. So, Dhimmi, tell me all about the Syriac or Hebrew for the Numeral "0"?. Let me give you very graphic illustration: look at your Telephone keypad. Notice that the Letter O and the Numeral 0 [zero] are not the same, though they look alike. Are you still confused, Dhimmi still? Well, once a Dhimmi, always a Dhimmi. That why the G-d of Moses had the ancient Hebrews travel 40 years in the Desert before reaching the Holy Land. That way at least 2 generations of former Slaves died, and 2 new generations of Adults were available without any recollection of their former enslavement Status. Lucky for me, i was born after the Holocaust. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
