Tovey (United States), Oct 29, 2009 at 16:30 If I speak well in support of the faith I have in Yeshua HaMashiach, it is because I seek to honor Him as the source and life of my faith. Without Him, have nothing of logical or philosophical value that would make life worth the hassle in this mortal realm. Health, nor wealth, nor any material things that this world may offer cannot hold a candle to the light that is His WORD in my life. By a full study of the Tanach and the Brit Hadassah, the items of my faith are begun and concluded in the understanding that He IS singled out as the beginning and ending of a life in Him, from the inferred association in eternity of His relationship to the G-dhead in the Creation narratives, to His pre-incarnate appearances to Abraham and Moses, to His being the prophetic and fulfilled answer to the Nation of Israel and all who believe in His titles as recited in Isaiah chapter 9:6. It is my understanding also the name Bar Ab(b)as is correctly understood as 'son of the father,' but in the Biblical perspective such a name has a more general application, the most pointed use of the term being applied to the man 'Barabbas', who was set free by Pilate at the trial of Yeshua. The principle accusers were those of the ruling priesthood that correctly had Yeshua identified as the 'Son of Man', but whose further actions in unbelief resulted in delivering Yeshua to the Romans for crucifixion. (Jochanan 11:49) And one of them, [named] Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, 'Ye know nothing at all, 50) Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.' 51) And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Yeshua should die for that nation; 52) And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad. Pilate's question, 'what is truth,' was for him, philosophical, for he had already made his determination that Yeshua was not guilty of anything worthy of the death sentence being sought by the rulers; Yeshua had already provided His answer. (Jochanan 18:31)Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death: 32) That the saying of Yeshua might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying what death he should die. 33) Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Yeshua, and said unto him, 'Art thou the King of the Jews?' 34) Yeshua answered him, 'Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me?' 35) Pilate answered, 'Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done?' 36) Yeshua answered, 'My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.' 37) Pilate therefore said unto him, 'Art thou a king then?' Yeshua answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. 38) Pilate saith unto him, 'What is truth?' And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault [at all]. Pilate went further, putting the choice to the people…. (Jochanan 18:39-40) But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews? Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber. Moving beyond this discourse, we then compare notes again about the difference between the natural realm in which we mortals are bound in this life, and the supernatural realm, from which in a Biblical perspective, it is my understanding it is the realm of Almighty G-d. When we read of some crossover activity, such as the appearance of the LORD to Moses in the burning bush, there is by this believer's understanding, an overshadowing of the supernatural. However, for mere mortals to assume all inexplicable things are supernatural-like the ill-conceived assertions that the politics of German Nationalist Socialist government were supernaturally aligned-is supremely delusional, for just as King Saul fell into his deepest depravity by seeking a medium to contact Samuel in last days of his dynasty, so too were the days of the Third Reich numbered-mene; mene; tekel……….! Coming to the last mention, that the human mind has powers for shaping things, reality is not such an easy thing for humans to grasp, let alone shape. That calls of a power sublimated to the higher power that controls the destiny of all things from the supernatural realm. For if humanity were truly able to manufacture and control the natural realm to a perfect conclusion, we would expect not to see the things happening today that threaten the very existence of all humanity. That is why we need the resource of Almighty G-d in the temporal realm we live in now; and the supernatural control of that is understood by those who hold to the power of the Hebrew Holy Scriptures as being in Yeshua HaMashiach's hands, even our very lives. That is what Yeshua HaMashiach has told those of us who have turned to Him in faith. For us, He is not merely the master of the WORD, He IS the WORD.
