Humanity, even when attempting to seek a middle-of-the-road course of life, ends up caught in the extremes.
The reason is human nature: pacifism does not work well with the impatience that is inherent in human nature.
Further, the predeliction in human nature for 'living on the edge' or retreating into the psychosis of preserving any sense of self-preservation (until that balance is upset for uncontrollable depression or rage);religious or secularist proclivities are neither well represented in today's fast paced race to achieve superiority or succumb to a failure of resolve in order to live without fear that life will deliver a fatal psychological defeat before being subjected to a traumatically devastating loss of a stable situation of living in a peaceful social setting (loss of which is the cause of migrant refugees' reasons to flee).
Apply that to reader Jeff's list; to Islam which appear to flourish only when in extremist mode; to apostate Christianesque attitudes that are not representative of the love expressed in pursuing the truth of the Gospel message of Yeshua, the Savior. It is indeed, counterintuitive to human nature, but it is the only escape which results in the ultimate peace of mind. Rebellion to that does not end well, for any.
