In this reader's lifetime, there were many acquaintances that were ex-pats of the Shah's Persian empire before becoming Iran, then only tolerating the Jewish populations in apparent dhimmitude attitudes; thus the exodus to other place around the world, including America, where this observer met many with stories of peaceful lives.
All of that is different now, the continuing exclamations of anti-Semitism and threats against Israel now taking its toll for the current world perceptions of what defense is going to be required to not go to war over Islam's desire to conquer the Middle East. The problem is all the outsiders' interference thinking the world will be a better place if all the ambitions of empire were centered in an appropriate 'religious' environment-Babel all over again.
If, indeed, Netanyahu is able to cobble together a revived right-leaning government to regain control, does anyone else think all this will accomplish is rebuilding the lightning-rod of contentions that everyone appears to be afraid of? However, Bibi may be right, the Persian influence is palpable; and for good reason - it is Biblical.
