The front lines are in Syria but the enemy is Iran.

Essentially it's the "War Between Wars" that Israel began in 2013.
Since the battlefield is in Syria where Syrian Assad is in charge, Iran is also "allied" with Russia under Putin. In this alliance, Iranian Proxies are on the ground, while Russia rules the sky and a major Mediterranean Sea port - giving Russia the only such port in said sea. Furthermore, Israel has a de-confliction deal with Russia regarding IDF missions so that no accidents happen regarding Russian and Israeli force. The open question is - how does the Russia-Ukraine conflict affect Russia presence in Syria. I assume it gives Israel a freer hand to do what's best for Israel's Victory.
