"Islamic" vs. "Islamist"

But Dr. Daniel Pipes distinguishes between "Islamist" and "Islamic" - and does not use "Islamic" as a pejorative as you do hear.

Also, since you are an Indian, you probably are aware how different the Muslims in India from the Muslims in Pakistan and most other Muslims outside of India. After all, India gave us (the West) NOTHING!

I have great affection for India and its great and tolerant Civilization where Buddhism took root before it did in China. You population is surpassing that of China, where the British maybe were partly responsible in encouraging Democracy to take root, as they did in the United States and Palestine (Israel).

And India did not persecute its Ancient Jewish Minority where it thrived. In China the Jews "merely" vanished by intermarrying with the locals. But China is not a Capitalist Democracy, as your India is. So I have the belief that India will eventually surpass China both Economically as well as Culturally as a Civilization.
