Please, don't hate IslamReader comment on item: Study the Koran? Submitted by Maxat , Kazakhstan (United Kingdom), Jan 16, 2008 at 21:38 Firstly, Islam's got 2 separate terms for non-muslims:"people of the Book" and kafirs. People of the Book are Jewish and Christians, kafirs are atheists and people who believe in many gods. Nowhere in the Quran I could find about killing "people of the Book" or any violence against them. We must understand 2 things about killing disbelievers in Islam :1.Kafirs forced Muhammed(pbuh) to leave Mecca and started war with muslims acting violently and killing muslims. If muslims hadn't fought against them, they wouldn't have survived. I couldn't find a single verse in the Quran which allows us to kill innocent people, women and children. Moreover Allah refers to people WHO STARTED THE WAR AGAINST MUSLIMS AND WERE KILLING MUSLIMS in verses about killing kafirs.2 Muslims don't have to kill kafirs. We have to pass message to them, but if they don't believe ONLY ALLAH CAN JUDGE THEM . We can't and shouldn't destroy all the other societies in the world. Our job is to tell them the truth about Allah and Quran. It's only their prerogative to believe or not. As far as I am concerned Islam hadn't been treated as a violent religion untill 1960's. Then corrupted politicians and mufties started changing the concept "Peace towards people" into "Peace towards muslims only". As a result hate against other religions was encouraged. Therefore so-called "muslim terrorists" got influenced by new and "cool" concept of killing innocent people and being "blessed" by their leaders. A similar pattern can be seen from history of "Crusades", famous Christian invasions in Middle Ages. In my opinion idea of muslims hating christians is very biased. In the Quran Surah 5:82,5:83 shows the attitude of REAL christians towards Islam and in many places in the Quran it's said that ALL jewish, christians, sabiis(religion from Abraham p.b.u.h) and muslims will go to Paradise if they act and believe as their prophets taught them.
