Dr. Pipes
I'm sure that most readers must be aware of the recent discovery of the Quranic fragments and the carbon dating of the fragments
For now I want to bring to your attention that underneath the text there is another text that was erased and it is older than the text we have now and here check this

But here is the most interesting finding check the following
https://twitter.com/alimhaider/status/623704107954540544
Now check the third word from right in the fourth line and it is
ܦܠܘ
(for readers interested in viewing the word in Syriac you must download the Syriac script)
This is Syriac alphabet or P followed by L followed by W and in the 1923-1924 Qur'an it would be
فلو
This is very interesting and it clear Syriac alphabet in the text and a 7th century bilingual (Syriac Arabic ) Arab would have read it as Syriac PLW and Arabic FLW but by the time al-Tabari was writing his exegesis of the Qur'an he would have been reading this word as the Arabic FLW
I suspect that this little nugget of Syriac will not be missed by Luxemburg
Stay tuned for more reading of these fragments
PS: These fragments are from Surat Taha or Q20
