The Saudis are editing Tafsir al-Qur'an?Reader comment on item: Study the Koran? Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Oct 28, 2016 at 15:03 Dr Pipes It seems that the Saudis are editing tafsir al-Qur;'an and here is an example: Q62:9 https://quran.com/62:9 Notice that the 6th word from the right in the first line is للصلوة Which is edited by al-Mufasereen and is read as للصلواة or by adding an alif after the letter waw The word الصلوة is from the Syriac form of the word ܨܠܘܿܬ݂ܵܐ or Sluta In Arabic the word is al-Salat or الصلاة Now here is how the word appears in Ibn Kathir's tafsir available at the Saudi Arabia web site and you will find the link below This is how the word appears: للصلاة This can only mean that the Saudis must be editing the Tafsir because it is embarrassing to have such mistake in Ibn Kathir's tafsir For the readers you will find the edited form of the word in the first line on Ibn Kathir's tafsir below the verses quoted from the Qur'an and it is the 6th word from right Here is the link http://quran.al-islam.com/Page.aspx?pageid=221&BookID=13 So much for the claim that not a single word from the Qur'an has been edited or changed Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
