Study the History of Islam?Reader comment on item: Study the Koran? Submitted by Darwin Barrett (United States), Jan 20, 2004 at 20:29 In the First 150 years after Mohammed's death they Almost conquered Europe.Study the history of the Orthodox Christians under the Ottoman Turks. Talk about religious intolerence!! For Current History, Look at virtually every major Conflict in the World today. It is Muslims fighting somebody in virtually every case and on every Continent. The History of Islam is a history of Persecution, Slavery, Intolerence, War, Conquest, Bloodshed, and Feuding. If you want to know Why, read Sam Huntington's Book, "The Clash of Civilizations..." How about reading "Why I am not a Muslim" by Ibn Warraq to get a good picture of Islam over the last 1400 years. You can also download some great articles from Islamic websites to find out what they are telling their own about living in Dar Al Harb. Read the Qur'an, and then research your own personal questions in the hadiths.
