Who is the Quranic Israel?Reader comment on item: Study the Koran? Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Jun 9, 2018 at 09:58 Dr Pipes Most Muslims have no idea who is really Israel And the Qur'an does not identify him as يعقوب or Jacob Therefore, we must turn to al-Mufasereen who come to the rescue and identify يعقوب or Jacob as Israel This is what Ibn Kathir wrote in Tafsir of Q3:93 where it says: كل الطعام كان حلاً لبني إسرائيل إلا ما حرم إسرائيل على نفسه Which can be rendered as: Eat the food allowed for the sons of Israel but not what Israel has forbidden for himself Notice that the name Jacob is not mentioned! And this is what he wrote: كان إسرائيل - وهو يعقوب عليه السلام Or Israel was Jacob peace be upon him! So what was Ibn Kathir's source that Jacob indeed is Israel? It must be the Bible the same book that Muslims tell us that it is a corrupted book. So I have a question for Qur'an only Muslims the likes of our dear Amin: If he does not read any Islamic sources except the Qur'an, who is really Israel? And more evidence that Qur'an only is pure madness Total insanity!
