Discrepancy between Quran and Torah

1) Quran 11:43 mentions that the ark was rested upon Mount Judi and yet torah mentions that it should be rested upon Mount Ararat. The following are the extracts:

Quran 11:43 (Yusuf Ali translation), "The son replied: "I will betake myself to some mountain: it will save me from the water." Noah said: "This day nothing can save, from the command of Allah, any but those on whom He hath mercy! "And the waves came between them, and the son was among those overwhelmed in the Flood."

Quran 11:44 (Yusuf Ali translation), "Then the word went forth: "O earth! swallow up thy water, and O sky! Withhold (thy rain)!" and the water abated, and the matter was ended. The Ark rested on Mount Judi, and the word went forth: "Away with those who do wrong!" "

Genesis 8:4 (King James Version), "And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat."

2) Quran 6:74 mentions that the father of Abraham was Azar and yet torah mentions that it should be Terah. The following are the extracts:

Quran 6:74 (Yusuf Ali translation), "Lo! Abraham said to his father Azar: "Takest thou idols for gods? For I see thee and thy people in manifest error."

Genesis 11:26 (King James Version), "And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran."

Genesis 11:27 (King James Version), "Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot."

Genesis 17:4 (King James Version), "..and God talked with him,..." Genesis 17:5, "Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee."

As the phrase, Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, is mentioned in Genesis 17:4 with the phrase, thy name shall be Abraham, it implies that God was the One that named Abram to be Abraham. Both Genesis 11:26 and 27 support that the father of Abraham should be Terah instead of Azar.

3) Quran 40:26 supports that Pharaoh had the intention to slay Moses due to the fear that he would change his religion or lest he would cause mischief on earth and yet Exodus 12:30-31 support that Pharaoh wanted the children of Israel to leave in order that they would serve their Lord due to a great cry in Egypt.

Quran 40:26 (Yusuf Ali translation), "Said Pharaoh: "Leave me to slay Moses; and let him call on his Lord! What I fear is lest he should change your religion, or lest he should cause mischief to appear in the land!"

Exodus 12:30 (King James Version), "And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead."

Exodus 12:31 (King James Version), "And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said."

4) Quran 28:30 mentions that Moses heard the voice from the right bank of the valley where Allah called him and yet Exodus 3:4 mentions that Moses heard the voice from the burning bush. The following are the extracts:

Quran 28:30 (Yusuf Ali translation), "But when he came to the (fire), a voice was heard from the right bank of the valley, from a tree in hallowed ground: "O Moses! Verily I am Allah, the Lord of the Worlds..."

Exodus 3:2 (King James Version), "And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed."

Exodus 3:4 (King James Version), "And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I."

5) Quran 28:29 mentions that Moses saw a fire at Mount Tur and yet Exodus 3:1 mentions that it should be at the mountain of God to Horeb. The following is the extract:

Quran 28:29 (Yusuf Ali translation), "Now when Moses had fulfilled the term, and was travelling with his family, he perceived a fire in the direction of Mount Tur. He said to his family: "Tarry ye; I perceive a fire; I hope to bring you from there some information, or a burning firebrand, that ye may warm yourselves.""

Exodus 3:1 (King James Version), "Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb."

Exodus 3:2 (King James Version), "And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed."

Exodus 3:3 (King James Version), "And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt."

6) Quran 20:92 mentions that Moses warned Aaron about all the wrong doers, except him, and yet Exodus 32:2-4 mentions that Aaron was also one of the wrong doers. The following are the extracts:

Quran 20:92 (Yusuf Ali translation), "(Moses) said: "O Aaron! What kept thee back, when thou sawest them going wrong."

Exodus 32:2 (King James Version), "And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me."

Exodus 32:4 (King James Version), "And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt."

7) Quran 20:51 mentions that Pharaoh enquired whether Moses had driven Egyptians out with his magic and yet Exodus 12:31 mentions that Pharaoh was the one that had the urge to chase Israelites out of Egypt to serve their God due to they had the fear to be dead. The following are the extracts:

Quran 20:51 (Yusuf Ali translation), "(Pharah) said:" Quran 20:57 (Yusuf Ali translation), "He said, "Hast thou come to drive us out of our land with thy magic, O Moses?"

Exodus 12:31 (King James Version), "And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said."

Exodus 12:33 (King James Version), "And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all dead men."

8) Quran 10:88 mentions that Moses prayed to Allah to want him to send hardness to the hearts of Egyptians so that they would not believe until they saw the grievous penalty and yet Exodus 7:3 mentions that it was the decision of God to harden Pharaoh's heart so as to multiply his signs and wonders in the land of Egypt. The following are the extracts:

Quran 10:88 (Yusuf Ali translation), "Moses prayed: "O Lord! Thou hast bestowed on Pharaoh and his chiefs splendor and wealth in the life of the present and so, Our Lord, they mislead (men) from Thy Path. Deface our Lord, the features of their wealth and send hardness to their hearts, so they will not believe until they see the grievous penalty."

Exodus 7:3 (King James Version), "And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt."

9) Quran 10:87 mentions that Moses and his brother were encouraged to dwell in Egypt for worship and regular prayers and yet Exodus 3:7 mentions that God heard the cry of the affliction of the Jews and wanted them to be delivered out of Egypt. The following are the extracts:

Quran 10:87 (Yusuf Ali translation, "We inspired Moses and his brother with this Message: "Provide dwellings for your people in Egypt, make your dwellings into places of worship, and establish regular prayers and give glad tidings to those who believe!"

Exodus 3:7 (King James Version), "And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows:"

Exodus 3:8 (King James Version), "And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites."

10 Quran 7:102 mentions that Pharaoh and his chiefs wrongly rejected the signs from Moses and yet Exodus 7:3 does not mention that they rejected the signs from Moses. Instead, it was God to harden the heart of Pharaoh so that He could multiply his signs and wonders in the land of Egypt. The following are the extracts:

Quran 7:102 (Yusuf Ali translation), "Then after We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they wrongfully rejected them: So what the end of those who made mischief."

Exodus 7:3 (King James Version), "And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt."

11 Quran 7:116 mentions that Moses called Egyptians to throw their rods first and yet Exodus 7:10 mentions that Moses was the first to throw his rod when Pharaoh requested for a miracle. The following are the extracts:

Quran 7:116 (Yusuf Ali translation), "Said Moses: "Throw ye (first)." So when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people, and struck terror into them: for they showed a great (fear of) magic."

Exodus 7:9 (King James Version), "When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent."

Exodus 7:10 (King James Version), "And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent."

12 Quran 7:117 mentions that Moses received the inspiration to throw his rod to swallow up straight away all the falsehoods which Pharaoh faked and yet Exodus 7:9 mentions that Moses was the one to instruct Aaron to take the rod to cast it before Pharaoh and it swallowed up the rods of sorcerers. The following are the extracts:

Quran 7:117, "We put it into Moses's mind by inspiration: "Throw (now) thy rod": and behold! it swallows up straight away all the falsehoods which they fake!"

Exodus 7:9 (King James Version), "When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent."

Exodus 7:11 (King James Version), "Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments."

Exodus 7:12, (King James Version), "For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods."

13 Quran 6:91 mentions that Moses brought forth the Book by means of revelation and yet they made it separate sheets for show and yet Exodus 31:18 mentions that God was the one to write on two tables of stone the words of covenant. As the words were written on stone, how could these stones be able to subdivide into sheets for show? The following are the extracts:

Quran 6:91 (Yusuf Ali Quran 6:91 (Yusuf Ali translation), "No just estimate of Allah do they make when they say: "Nothing doth Allah send down to man (by way of revelation)" Say: "Who then sent down the Book which Moses brought?- a light and guidance to man: But ye make it into (separate) sheets for show, while ye conceal much (of its contents): therein were ye taught that which ye knew not- neither ye nor your fathers." Say: "Allah (sent it down)": Then leave them to plunge in vain discourse and trifling."

Exodus 31:18 (King James Version), "And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God."

Exodus 32:15 (King James Version), "And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand: the tables were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written."

14 Quran 4:153 mentions that the people of the book asked to cause a book to descend to them from heaven and yet Exodus 31:18 mentions that God was the one to write two tables of testimony with His finger without the people asking for them. The following are the extracts:

Quran 4:153 (Yusuf Ali translation), "The people of the Book ask thee to cause a book to descend to them from heaven: Indeed they asked Moses for an even greater (miracle), for they said: "Show us Allah in public," but they were dazed for their presumption, with thunder and lightning. Yet they worshipped the calf even after clear signs had come to them; even so we forgave them; and gave Moses manifest proofs of authority."

Exodus 31:18 (King James Version), "And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God."

15 Quran 4:153 mentions that the people of the Book worshipped a calf even after clear signs had come to them and yet Exodus 19:21 mentions that the people did not receive any clear signs before worshipping the calf since God called Moses to charge them not to gaze for signs on how God could have done for Moses. The following are the extracts:

Quran 4:153 (Yusuf Ali translation), "The people of the Book ask thee to cause a book to descend to them from heaven: Indeed they asked Moses for an even greater (miracle), for they said: "Show us Allah in public," but they were dazed for their presumption, with thunder and lightning. Exodus 19:16 (King James Version), "And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled."

Exodus 19: 21 (King James Version), "And the LORD said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest they break through unto the LORD to gaze, and many of them perish."

Exodus 32:1 (King James Version), "And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him."

Exodus 32:8 (King James Version), "They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt."

16 Quran 2:67 mentions that the people beseeched God for potherbs, cucumbers, garlic, lentils, and onions and yet Numbers 11:4 mentions that they had preference on flesh to eat. The following are the extracts:

Quran 2:61 (Yusuf Ali translation), "And remember ye said: "O Moses! we cannot endure one kind of food (always); so beseech thy Lord for us to produce for us of what the earth groweth, -its pot-herbs, and cucumbers, Its garlic, lentils, and onions." He said: "Will ye exchange the better for the worse? Go ye down to any town, and ye shall find what ye want!" They were covered with humiliation and misery; they drew on themselves the wrath of Allah. This because they went on rejecting the Signs of Allah and slaying His Messengers without just cause. This because they rebelled and went on transgressing."

Numbers 11:4-6, "And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, WHO SHALL GIVE US FLESH TO EAT? We remember the FISH, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick: But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes."

17 Quran 2:67 mentions that Moses called Allah to save him from an ignorant fool when he spoke to his people Allah commanded that them to sacrifice a heifer and yet Numbers 19:2 mentions that it is an ordinance of the law to bring to God a red heifer. The following are the extracts:

Quran 2:67 (Yusuf Ali translation), "And remember Moses said to his people: "Allah commands that ye sacrifice a heifer." They said: "Makest thou a laughing-stock of us?" He said: "Allah save me from being an ignorant (fool)!"

Numbers 19:2 (King James Version), "This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke:"

18 Quran 2:60 mentions that water was gushed out with twelve springs and each group of people knew its own place of water and yet Exodus 20:10 mentions the congregation gathered before the rock and water came abundantly in Exodus 20:11. The following are the extracts:

Quran 2:60 (Yusuf Ali translation), "And (remember) when Musa (Moses) asked for water for his people, We said: "Strike the stone with your stick." Then gushed forth therefrom twelve springs. Each (group of) people knew its own place of water. "Eat and drink of that which Allah has provided and do not act corruptly, making mischief on the earth."

Exodus 20:7-8 (King James Version), "And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink."

Exodus 20:10, "And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?"

Exodus 20:11, "And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also."
