Our dear iam the letter V in the language of Egypt and those pesky Copts and the long versionReader comment on item: "An Arabist's Guide to Egyptian Colloquial" Now Online Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Jun 5, 2010 at 15:35 For the readers read and laugh as our dear iam tells us that there is something great about the letter v and that it is only in Hebrew and my response was: wrong as in the language of Egypt the second letter of the alphabet is beta or veta and I gave him the example of the name of the city of Coptos (Greek) or Kipt (Egyptian /Coptic) , in Late Antique Egypt, was Arabized by Egyptians as QIFT and the f in Qift comes from the fact that the Copts who Arabized the name read the letter P in Coptos or Kipt as Arabic B because there is no letter P in Arabic but the letter B becomes V and because we do not have V in Arabic it becomes Arabic F et voila it is now called the city of QIFT And this is indeed clear evidence that the letter B in Egyptian is really a V which proves that his little cockamamie theory about hebrew and the letter V is no more than poor reading of the sources external to his tradition and for those that follow his posts he is avoiding his little gem anok pe (Egyptian for I am) which his Allah is supposed to have said it in a Hebrew text go figure Did you get it our dear iam? Hint: 1. No Ibrahim wa Musa 2. Read the Coptic alphabet before you answer 3. There is nothing magic about the ltter V or any letter for this matter except in the minds of fools 4. The Bible is not a history book 5. Genesis and Exodus never happened 6. The Arabic language goes back as far as 1500BCE 7. The Arabs exist in the literary sources as far back as 900BCE 8. The earliest extant literary epigraphy in Arabic is from Qaryat al-Faw and is dated 100-300BCE 9. The earliest Arabic inscriptions in defective Arabic are dated to 270CE 10. The Arabic language was fully fledged in the 3rd century (900CE) of Islam at the end of the masoritic activity 11. Egyptian Arabic was created starting in 642CE and it never existed before 642CE 12. The language of Egypt which is not a Semitic language and had nothing to do with arabic and Coptic is only an alphabet of such language Now does our dear iam get it? I do not think so Oh now go and tell them at Hebrew University about your theories and they will laugh at you But again our dear iam has no clue and keep mixing up 1. Egyptian as the language of Egypt 2. Egyptian Arabic a language that was created post 642CE Then prove me wrong but you cannot because you are debating languages that you cannot speak read or write. >I did prove you wrong - Where? >numerously. Hypocrite >You have now twice disregarded your error in quoting 1st century arabic , Really? where? But mr demagogue you told us that there is no Arabic before 400CE or is it 300CE and only allahua3lam but could you repeat my "error" again? Let me guess: Hypocrite >as opposed any ancient writings containing the 'V'. I told you, not even the ancient Phoenecian contained this alphabet.: Hello: The second letter in the language of Egypt is B or V oh those pesky Copts! >Quote: Coptic and Demotic are grammatically closely akin to Late Egyptian, which was written in the hieroglyphic script. It was supplanted by Egyptian Arabic as a spoken language toward the early modern period, though revitalization efforts have been underway since the nineteenth century.Unquote. Gobbeldygook what does this have to do with the fact that the language of Egypt has the letter B or V? >This has nothing to do with you speaking aravic. Aravic? Ya roh baba oh i forgot that our dear iam's Allah believes that the letter V is magic oh spare me this one >It is english comprehension and honesty which matters. Do not even mention the English language and your bogus Arab and arabian >On both issues of Arabic writing being recent - What two issues? Hint: 1. No Musa wa Ibrahim 2. The hebrew Bible is not a history book 3. Get your money back from your glroious madrassa > around 400 CE, and that the Arab race is not older than 500 BCE - Hypocrite >have been well proven. I will leave this remark to the readers to judge you as YOU CANNOT PROVE A NEGATIVE and you tell us that you study history? Shame on you You are just as badly educated as ignorant Muslims But you know what? Greek logic is beyond you >The matter of the 'V' alphabet is also proven with no impact from your eronous references: you cannot submit 1st century writings to show that ancient Egyptian possessed the 'V'. Here is my previous response again: Mr demagogue you are saying that you agree that the Coptic alphabet did have the letter V right? Then we kuffar say that he who has a claim is the one that must provide the evidence to support his claim which means that you should check both hieroglyphs as well as hieratic and demotic alphabet and prove to us that those nasty Copts invented the letter V to annoy your likes and for this i say good luck and we readers will be watching you making a fool of yourself again >Your submissions are totally baseless - quoting new languages as a manipulation. Check the dates herein. The original, ancient languages, even Phoenecian - did not contain the 'V'. The new languages acquired these recently. Oh those pesky Egyptians are raining on your little parade >Coptic or Coptic Egyptian[7] (Met Remenkēmi) is the final stage of the Egyptian language, a northern Afro-Asiatic language spoken in Egypt until at least the seventh century. Egyptian began to be written using the Greek alphabet in the first century. The new writing system became the Coptic script, an adapted Greek alphabet with the addition of six to seven signs from the demotic script to represent Egyptian sounds the Greek language did not have. Several distinct Coptic dialects are identified, the most prominent of which are Sahidic and Bohairic.Coptic and Demotic are grammatically closely akin to Late Egyptian, which was written in the hieroglyphic script. The main difference is in the writing. Coptic flourished as a literary language from the second to thirteenth centuries, and its Bohairic dialect continues to be the liturgical language of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria. It was supplanted by Egyptian Arabic as a spoken language toward the early modern period, though revitalization efforts have been underway since the nineteenth century. For the readers: Notice that our dear iam is avoiding posting the Coptic alphabet because he now knows that the second letter is indeed Beta or Veta oh let me see but those pesky Copts invented the letter V to annoy him Do us a favor and get a life
