Messiah in Isaiah 42Reader comment on item: A Christian Boom Submitted by Servant of Christ (United States), Oct 26, 2006 at 06:44 Servant of Christ here is my new interpretation of Isaiah 42: Isaiah 42: 1-17: 42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.42:2 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.42:3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.42:4 He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.42:5 Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:42:6 I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles 42:7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.42:8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. According to the above God (not Jesus) will elect a servant (Jesus) in the future. Look at 42:1 it says servant of God and not son of God and has I believe that Jesus was a servant of God, so this prophecy applies to him. Not really. You have to understand the nature of the Godhead... The word LORD could apply to any of the three Godhead member. Again, what's your point? God sent Jesus (for the Father sends the Son). 42 9-17 refer to Muhammad (pbuh): 42:9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them. God is telling us in the above verse that new things will and he is going to tell them to the people of Israel. 42:10 Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof. The new song the God is talking about is the Quran because the new song means another language. Bad logic here. Since some of the New Testament was in Greek. If this new song is a new language, then it's the Bible. 42:11 Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains. Scientists have DNA link between Arabs and Jews proofing that some Arabs are descendant from Ishmael. Since when were the Jews linked to Ishmael??? Well, let's have your scientific proof then! Still, the faint mention of Kedar does not make it part of a prophecy -.-. 42:12 Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands 42:13 The Lord shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar, he shall prevail against his enemies. 42:14 I have time holden my peace: I have been still, and refrained myself: now I will cry travailing woman: I will destroy and devour at once. 42:15 I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands and I will dry up the pools. God his clearly saying that this prophet will make war and he shall prevail against his enemies and did Jesus make war during his life no he only taught love toward his enemies. Sigh... You still have not listened. First, this explanation is the exact same as your previous. Second, this is the almost the exact same as Revelations: I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter." He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: 17And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, "Come, gather together for the great supper of God, 18so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great." (Revelations 19:11-17) emphasis added This is applying to Christ's SECOND COMING. Stop ignoring the Christian doctrine of the Second Coming. These verses above show what Jesus will do on his Second Coming... 42:16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them. 42:17 They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, ye are our gods. In Isaiah 42:16 it says that he will lead people of Kedar in to paths they have not known and he will make darkness light before them with Prophet Muhammad. In Isaiah 42:17 God say that they false pagan gods will be put to shame. Prophet Muhammad did to this to they gods when he entered the Kabah and destroyed all they 365 false gods and put them to shame because they gods didn't do anything. So Prophet Muhammad was foretold in the bible. Almost every single prophet has denounced idols. Kedar is a faint mention, and more likely geographic than racial. Jesus was the light (John 1:4). This is a blatant contradiction. If Muhammed was foretold as the Prophet, then he would agree to the teachings of Christ (who is also foretold). Since they both apparently disagreed, then one is right and one is wrong. This passage can just as easily apply to Christ Jesus and make just as much sense (if not more). Jesus said he was God, Muhammed said that Christ was not. Yet even the Qu'ran says Christ was guiltless. So, one person was lying. Don't say, "The Bible is corrupted" because there is no evidence and the discoveries of the Dead Sea Scroll and the vast amount of manuscripts deny that. Sohail May God Bless You All
