Lets seeReader comment on item: A Christian Boom Submitted by Sohail (United Kingdom), Feb 1, 2007 at 09:43 This was after he was taken up into Heaven. His human form was like ours while his form in Heaven was beautiful. But Jesus was God's son he was different from us. He came in a human form but he must have had better looks than us. He did live longer. Isaiah did not say how long he would lengthen his days. No he did not have physical descendants. However, metaphorically speaking he did. And Isaiah is not mistaken here. He only lived 33 years on earth. Well I am talking about physical and not metahorically way. The New Testament is as accurate as the Old Testament in archaeology. Doubts of the accuracy of the NT have been evaporated and unquestioned by archaeologist. The existence of the disciples of Jesus have been proven through second hand sources. The prophecy that Jesus made of the Second Temple has proven his divinity. The transformation of cowardly disciples to some of the bravest people in history who stood by Jesus despite martyrdom, saws, crucifixion, persecution, etc. Let's also examine the character of Jesus. He says he was the Son of God. He wasn't mad since he did not have any signs of it and said some of the most spiritual, profound, and practical words. How could the most moral man have the greatest lie? Would Jesus lie about being the Son of God even though he knew that saying that would get him killed the most painful way ever invented? Christianity says something that other religions do not say. It says 'done' not 'do'. There is no doubt in whether or not you will go to Heaven. In addition to this, it is a relationship and not just a religion. It is remarkable that within a few decades after the death of Jesus, the Jewish Sabbath, uncleanliness, and tradition were changed into new Christian ones. The Jews were probably the most dedicated people of all history to their tradition. Opposition was stoning. Statistics have shown that the Jews had the least foreign marriages which proves their zeal in not straying from the law. However, God wants not just obedience, he wants faith. And to see that the Jews who adhered strictly to their tradition for a thousand years to a thousand and a half years and then suddenly within fifty years conforming it to the New Covenant is astounding. What could explain this? Perhaps the sight of the Messiah. Paul even challenges the people to investigate the matter. He says that over five hundred people saw the resurrected Jesus taken up into Heaven (1 Corinthians 15:6). The Resurrection has so much evidence. Why is it that the Jews do not deny the existence of Jesus? They say that the disciples stole him (Matt 28:13). It was obvious that they put his body in the tomb because the Romans, Jews, and the disciples all agree that Jesus was buried in a rich man's tomb. And then all agree that the tomb was open and that the body was gone... The Old Testament and New Testament go hand in hand. Their books mirror each other and tell of one great love story. The New Testament has had 5600 copies in less than 100 years. They agree with each other 99.5% and the small difference is in spelling or in slight rewording (ie. done quietly, quietly done). Here is a list of other famous and cherished works and how many copies they had. Lets see Quran and Muhammad in archaeology and prophecy: Muhammad predicted the rise of Bad leaders in the future for muslims. The city of Iram has been founded and his mention in the Quran. Muhammad predicted future victories of islam. And there is more. Sohail Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
