Israelis are war weary

And who can blame them? They have been forced to defend themselves despite the fact that all they want is to live in peace, have no greater territorial aspirations (as one encounters in the arab press, accusing them of wanting a 'greater Israel'). It is a shame that the new generation coming up has been spoiled by the entitlements, spoiled by the easy living and sacrifices made by their parents and elders who built up the country from nothing. It is worrying that the national unity that once existed is almost gone. Combine that with the incessant threats and wars that are forced to be reckoned with, and you have a recipe for disaster. It is hard to be optimistic.
