A response to Giv Cornfield

Lebanon like Israel allows for dual citizenship and hence many of the 25 000 people are naturalized American citizens who pay taxes, vote and like it or not: They are a part of the American society.

I would like to see Mr. Cornfield's criteria of who is an American and who is not?

If someone else used this same twisted logic when describing the 8 million Israeli or Jewish Americans who rightfully support Israel, it would be consider racist and outright Anti Semitic! Hence, Mr. Cronfield double standards and logic toward the Americans of Lebanese ancestry is downright racist and absurd!

Lastly, Lebanon is a country of 18 denominations and religious sects of whom the Shia Muslim comprise 40 percent. The weak and ineffectual Lebanese government have attempted to negotiate the surrender of Hizb Allah's weapons to no avail. In simple terms Hizb Allah who is funded and armed by Iran and Syria is more pwoerful than the Lebanese army. Hence any attempt at disarming them by force is tantamount to civil war in Lebanon. From what I see, many Lebanese abhor Hizb Allah's actions but many are also resentful toward Israel's destruction of Lebanon's infrastructure.

Finaly, I would like to reiterate Mr. Walid Jumblat's description of the Lebanese predicament:

Lebanon is caught between the Israeli hammer and the Iranian anvil.
