Worries about Iran prompted the Saudi kingdom to take the lead in condemning attacks by Hamas and Hezbollah on Israel as "rash adventures."
This admonition is far too gentle, but I suppose we must be thankful for any negative pronouncements against terrorists that the "kingdom" deigns to proffer.
What a horrible, unsurprising mess this war is. I was praying for Israel earlier today. The thought of Israel's precious soldiers becoming the recipients of Nasrallah's "surprises" is enough to drive one to one's knees. Then I opened my Bible to the ninth chapter of Acts and read the account of the terrorist Saul on the road to Damascus (What is it with Damascus and terrorists?) where he saw a light from Heaven; heard a voice from God; and quit terrorism altogether---even got a new name to signify a new man.
I am praying that in every terrorist cell group worldwide there will be one charismatic leader who has a Damascus epiphany and lives at least long enough to proselytize a few others before his friends kill him for betraying jihad. If that could happen, conceivably within a few years a tipping point would be reached, and Islamism would begin to decline. I invite others to share the prayer and pass it on.
