Ahmed,
True, It is a historical fact that a few Christians committed atrocities in wars, such as in the Crusades, the inquisition and European religious wars during the 17th century. On this fact Christianity, Judaism and Islam are all equally guilty. What makes Islam sui generis vis a vis the other monotheistic religions (including Zoroastrism and Sikhism) is that when a practitioner of Islam practices violence in the promotion of Islam (the lesser Jihad), it is justified by the orthodox teachings of Islam, which takes a literal interpretation of the bellicose verses in the Koran. You know those verses where Allah commands the faithfull to destroy the infidels ect. ect.
This is in direct contrast to the Christian who commits violence (whether they take a literal, anological or metaphorical read on their scripture), as they are condemned by the teachings and tenets of the Christian gospel and thus have placed themselves outside the Christain community by their act of hatred. The different heurminetical approaches that Christians and Muslems take, leads, when taken on a continuum of violence, to Islam on the whole being more responsible for the lions share of religious violence, not only to infidels but also within their own ranks i.e. the Muslim family, which is more than any of the other great world religion. This difference in interpretation of holy scriptures, also has been illustrated in the leaders of Christianity (such as the Pope John Paul II) in apologetically condemning previous wrongs committed by Christians as contrary to the tenets of Jesus and in asking for forgiveness.
So, yes Ahmad, Enough is Enough! When will Muslim Ayatollah's who say that Islam is a religion of peace apologize for Muslim atrocities? When will they advocate and teach that Islam can be practiced as just an ethical norm and put an end to the practice of Sharia? Will they free Islam from the Sharia and advocate a non-literal historical-contextual and metaphorical reading of the Koran or continue the promolgation of a literal interpretation and Sharia law to the detriment of world peace? Will they relinquish and renounce the goal of world domination and take their place as equals among the great religions of the world?
Enough is Enough,
Jerry
