It is hard to be dismissive of Christian influences in the Middle East when the messages of the Gospel TWO millennia ago are central to the issues of the Middle East today. While it is written in the Tanakh and the Brit Chadashah that belief in the Savior is based upon the love of God, it is still predicated upon what the Savior Himself said: salvation is of the Jews.
Observe the entirety of the Jewish Scriptures and try to understand and realize this is what the tragedy of the Middle East, all of it, from the Iranian Islamic Regime through the Saudi based Arabian realms of Mecca and Medina, to the shores of the Gulf in the UAE, are in the Hebrew Scriptures awaiting the final fulfillments, including the adjudications coming from the Temple Mount, that will determine the future of Israel becoming the promised kingdom and all nations will be looking at Jerusalam as the center of it all. It's all there.
