UN deception

Israel will be cheated if it succumbs to a UN call for a ceasefire without defeating Hezbollah. To put too much trust in UN Resolutions and it's immediate compliance will lead to long term problems.

Israel can learn from India. In 1948, Pakistan invaded Jammu and Kashmir with the aim of annexing it. As usual, it first sent in Pathan tribesmen who looted and ravaged kashmir. The then King of kashmir called in India's help to save kashmir from being raped and pillaged by Pakistani tribesmen and regular troops. As a price for Indian protection , Kashmir formally joined India. India immedietely rushed troops to Kashmir. The Indian Army quckly pushed back Pakistani army from the gates of Srinagar, capital of Kashmir and were well in the process of process of ejecting invadersfrom the whole ofKashmir. Given another 1 week, the entire Jammu and Kashmir would have been free of Pakistani inaders.

At that time, starry-eyed Jawaharlal Nehru, a complete novice in international relations, went to the UN to 'complain' about Pakistani invasion of Kashmir. UN, as a neutral body, as a reflex action called for an immediete ceasefire. Nehru, the Prime Minister of India, immedietely acceded to the UN Resolution even though the job of ejecting the invaders in Kashmir has not been finished, and even though the India Army was well on it's way to finishing the job in a matter of weeks.

The stupid decision by Nehru has resulted in keeping the kashmir 'problem' alive by giving a chance to Pakistan's military dictators to keep the kashmir pot boiling by

a. sending amed intruders into India via Kashmir Ceasefire Line and causing chaos and mayhem in kashmir

b. by making outright wars in 1965, 71 and 1999

c. 'Solving Kashmir problem' has been the excuse with which Pakistani military establishment has made sure the civilian rule and democracy have been derailed in Pakistan.

d. The pakistani ilitary has also financed and encouaged a number of islamic terrorist groups Lashkar Toyyaba ( who bombed the Bombay trains 10 days back) and Taliban to wage a proxy war against India.

e.Under the excuse of "liberating" kashmir, Pakistan has made their country into a haven for all islamic terrorist groups and madrassas.

If India had not gone for a UN resolution in 1948, or if it had declared a ceasefire after throwing out the Pakistani Army completely out of Kasmir. no Kashmir issue would be alive today.

The so-called 'Kashmir issue' is the most unnecesary issue in the world today. It is a standing lesson from history to finish the job of ejecting invaders and aggressors and give them no handle to hang on to any advantage, even though UN , as a neutral body always calls for immediete and uncondistional ceasefire.

If Israel does not take enough action to defeat Hizbollah within the next few weeks, it will be a festering wound on Israel for many decades, no amount of UN Resolutions notwithstanding
